Thats cause Godzilla was barely in it lol. But tbh we never got Kong movies like Godzilla. We never really explored much of him. It ws the same story for him. Big mnkey falls in love with white girl goes to new york climbs a building boom shot dead. There were other films but none of them truly stuck. So yea it's good to see Kong being explored more than just be the giant ape that falls off the empire state building.

Even in my hatred of the climax of this movie I keep going back to Kong.

This might be the first kaiju movie where we get to experience what a monster is feeling from their perspective, meaning Kong, for a solid 40 minutes of the movie.

Hands down worst modern Godzilla movie.

I know I was hard on the trailers but since our opinions are so different GvK and Skull Island, I was all ready to come back from this and tell you how you were overanalyzing a movie about fighting monsters... That it was a love letter to old Godzilla films.

Nope.. Wish I could but I can't. This movie was trash and ******* boring which was not what I was expecting. Dumb yes. Boring no.

The end battle was SUPER anticlimactic, short, bland and a visual mess.

Yep. what a let down.

Worst use of his atomic breath ever he couldn’t even hit anything.

Mothra was useless.

I hate the Monsterverse Mothra.

The no gravity fight was super lame.

Shimo hands down worst modern Kaiju ever he even looked goofy.

As soon as he showed up and you found out what was going on with him the ending was spoiled.

Kong’s 1st battle with Scar King was decent but over quick.

Agreed. I thought I would hate Scar King but he was a decent Villian. But man I cant believe we had to wait for what i am guessing is an hour for him to finally show up.

Mini Kong very well done though.

He was Ok. Better then I was expecting. My problem with all the Apes is they too freaking smart. Felt more like I was watching a Planet of the Apes film then a Godzilla / kong film.

Kong in general was very well done but not enough to save this movie.

There were some moments. Just too damn human. I mean setting traps?

The power glove introduction scene has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever seen in a modern Godzilla movie.

Cause I knew it was coming I was not bothered. But yep dumb.

The humans and tribe gravity/mothra plot was nonsensical.

OMG it was. All the human stuff was the worst of the series. So much exposition from the lady from the last film. I cant believe she just kept explaining the plot.

Holy crap that power glove intro scene just wow, Kong super injured one second next second he’s good to go

Movie was “Ok” until the no gravity BS started then it went downhill fast.

It lost me a tad earlier than that. I cant pinpoint when but when I found I was getting board and I could not help but focus on just how removed this film was from even the Last GvK film... Let alone 2014.

Let me repeat this…

Godzilla Minus One is a masterpiece.

This was ******** visual noise Kaiju action.

Oh Oh OH….the Monarch show had NOTHING to do with this movie

Kong and mini Kong were very well handled until they weren’t.

Until that powerglove showed up.

The human stuff…omg…absolutely 100% stupid.

The whole Scar / Shimo thing was super dumb you never felt Shimo as a threat which ruined the end battle completely.

Mechagodzilla was a good villain which in turn made it a good threat which in turn lead to a good battle, not here.

Scar was a really weak villain once something happens to goofy Shimo.

That powerglove could take infinite ice damage in one scene lol

I didn’t like GvK but after this I now appreciate Gvk more lol

Yes to all this. Why did Godzilla have to do all that powering up. Scar King and Shimo had nothing on Ghidorah or even the MUTOs

This was the moment I thought I could sit back and tell you how wrong you were about this film because that scene was so freaking great

Scar’s “gangsta swagger” is also a sight to behold lol

I cant believe I actually liked that swagger. He could have been a great villain but he was ruined by the end.

This movie is just bad.

I am pretty big fan of all the monsterverse movies. But when Son of Godzilla is more rooted in reality and not half as stupid you have a problem on your hands.

What I liked.

Kong's first fight with little Kong and the Apes

Godzilla's first few scenes. I accepted his dumb running and leaping in the opening scene. I was willing to put up with that stuff still... I think I will probably hate it the next time I watch the film since I know now that no amount of turning off my brain will save this film.

Kong vs Scar King's first fight.

Godzilla vs Kong fight.

The little kid that was dressed in a Godzilla costume after the movie. He loved it. I gave him my Licensed Godzilla x Kong cup that I got at the theater.


What I disliked

Pretty much the rest of the film.

the human characters were the worst of the series. Just boring and dumb. The film would come to a standstill any time they were on screen. And the three characters that were in the last film i actually liked in that film so this one went out of its way to make them really dull.

The Apes being so human like in their intelligence.

All the Tribe / Gravity / Mothra ****.

Shimo was worthless.

Ending was anti-climatic. The monster fight was dull and not the 20 min of just monsters fighting that the director claimed it was.

The trailer did a better cut of King Scar getting his tooth knocked out

The film was boring.. So boring. Even the Kong stuff just ran its course after the first 30 min. It was handled so much better in KvG.

Boring and dumb. And not fun dumb. Just dumb.

Exactly. Had the film flown by I would have maybe been a bit forgiving but it was just dull.
