Agreed! Since I've found some stuff at gohastings I've changed the way I'm collecting a little bit. That's where my post a few pages back about figures I'm looking to purchase during one of their sales came in.

When I started collecting I just preordered anything I had interest in like a rabid dog. Now I'm picking up the must haves and passing the rest down to "go" for a chance at a lucky deal down the line.

Same here! Especially after seeing some of the prices we can get those HT's for!

This is a great thread but we have to quit posting here or pretty soon everyone is going to be shopping there! :slap :lol

I'll see your Tears of the Shaman and raise you a Warriors of Plasm and The Good Guys.

Um...which I never bought....or anything dumb like that. :lol

I'll trade you my Spawn #1 for your Death of Superman! LOl! Those were good times...when comics were gonna make us RICH! :slap:rotfl

Was that the tv ad about littering?

I hated Valiant, but collected them anyway. Ninjak and Bloodshot. Good grief.

Well the ONLY thing, IMO, that was good about Ninjak was Quesada did the art for a bit, as you probably remember. Just saying it was about the only thing ANY of those Valiant books had going for them.

PLASM! For the loss!! :lol :lol :lol

I had issue 1... what a fail. Everything about that comic sucked. Thank you Wizard, for over-hyping crap comics in the early 90's (wait, they still do)!

I remember picking up ten copies of Carnage's first appearance at a local grocery store. I flipped them to a comic shop for issue #1 of Iron Man.... It wasn't in pristine condition, but still pretty decent, and I do still have it. Win for Flosi!

Yeah rich....ORRRRRR.....trying to recover 1/4 of what you paid for them! :lol

Please, just buy this comic...it's only a $.25 and the cover price was $2.50!

Can I just say, without trying to sound braggish, the only thing that saved my @$$ with selling all my old stuff (comics, Spawn, SW POTF...you know the stuff I was going to retire on) was I sold an Obi-Wan Kenobi transition tray figure for $1200.00 to Brian's Toys.

I got lucky, I don't envy a lot of guys on here that have even more stuff than I did and can't off load it to save their lives. Been there...that sucks.

Wait a sec Chig, a POTF Obi-Wan transition tray for $1200.00??? I need more info, gonna PM okay?

I sold off most of my old comics and POTF stuff to a local comic shop and made enough to pay for the closing on my new home. The real sad part is while I was getting rid of it I STILL had that .....what if in two years this garbage skyrockets in price feeling! :lol

when I was a teen during the early 90's i probably spent 90% of my income maybe $10,000 or more, idk, from my first jobs on baseball cards...:lol probably couldn't sell all of it for $2,000.

I still have Spawn #1 and a bunch of Spawn comics like 2-60 something...

O then Sups came back in three's :rotfl

:rotfl Totally bought all that crap too! Superboy I think was the best out of all of those. I read somewhere that the Death of Superman was actually what killed the comics industry because of the hype surrounding it. EVERYONE decided to start collecting so they could get rich with mint copies and sell them down the line. WHOOPS!

PLASM! For the loss!! :lol :lol :lol

:lol :lol :lol :lol I'm not laughing with you...oh sh** yes I am...I had like the first 3 issues.... :slap

Nice.

Overall it kind of depresses me a little that comics nowadays don't have the draw they did when I was kid. God I couldn't wait to get a job (mowed lawns) so that I could start collecting comics. I went overboard, but still it just seems like they are a thing of the past now. I think probably more adults collect them than kids do, which is fine, but where does the cycle start again if kids aren't interested?

I thought I was being ahead of the curve, I thought Malibu comics and Ultraverse was going to be the next Image...lol.

I probably have 50 versions of Jim Lee's X-Men number 1. Like, 10 of each cover or whatever. And of course, I've got multiple copies of Spawn #1, McFarlane's Spiderman #1, even *shudder* Youngblood #1.

And I have the Spirit of Obi Wan figure. :rock
