We're pretty excited to be going to Scotland for our honeymoon! Gonna hit as many castles and whisky distilleries as possible!!! If anyone has gone, or lives there, any thoughts or ideas on what we can't miss?

Thanks!

oh god i pity you :lol:lol just wear a ginger wig, shout freeeedom and swear alot, you'll fit in right away ;)

Which part of Scotland are you visiting and at what time of the year ? There's a fantastic ghost tour in Edinburgh if you make it there!

We're flying out on Dec 25 and spending 2 weeks there. We already have tickets to the ghost tour! :rock

We are flying into Glasgow, and will be heading west to the island of Islay for some whisky distilleries. Then head south into Dumfries for some castles, and then up to Edinburgh for the ghost tour, and New Years. Then up north for more distilleries where we will be spending two nights in a Castle (apparently haunted)

i live in Scotland, if you like Golf i would recommend going to my home town St.andrews, it's considered the home of golf, and it's on the coast and a great basecamp for seeing alot of the east,
Edinburgh and Glasgow are a must though, you should have a great time in those cities, but you should definitely take a couple of days in the highlands and visit inverness and loch ness, and fort william. lots of touristy stuff there,

also on the west coast you should visit some of the islands i reccommend mull, and rothesay, all very beautiful islands, and on the west coast close to Glasgow you should check out inverary, lots of nice sights around there and the most famous and comprehensive whiskey and malt shop in the world,

you'll find most distilleries around glasgow and perthshire...

google about thos locations and feel free to ask questions, i truly love my country

George square in Glasgow is nice at xmas time, outdoor ice skating & carnival.

there also an open top tour bus that departs from George square regularly
on the outskirts of Glasgow is Loch Lomond which is stunning
