there's some pics we took up in scotland (2005 & 2006 I think) when we've gone camping or for overnight trips. Actually, we've got some more recent ones too that I need to get up on there.... I'll really need to get around to that.

We're flying out on Dec 25 and spending 2 weeks there. We already have tickets to the ghost tour! :rock

We are flying into Glasgow, and will be heading west to the island of Islay for some whisky distilleries. Then head south into Dumfries for some castles, and then up to Edinburgh for the ghost tour, and New Years. Then up north for more distilleries where we will be spending two nights in a Castle (apparently haunted)

ill be in edinburgh for there new year street party......... its a realy good event been once before, IF you go remeber to take lots of beer with you

Thanks everyone for your comments!! I'll get to each of them as I digest all this information. We are so far booked at 5 distilleries.. one of them being a 5 hour tour!! Yeah, we love whisky. :D

Yup, we'll be there! Have tickets for the Street Party and the Concert in the Gardens. So, we can bring our own alcohol? I take it the alcohol is really expensive there? Or is it just insane with so many people? Any other advice for the street party??

been to that before, you are in a prime location for the firework display, in the shadow of Edinburgh castle

take your own alcohol IMO as you'll spend half the night trying to get a drink, its busy by everyone is friendly

PS. there's also a firework display the night before at Waverley train station

in terms of food, one traditional scottish delicacy is a deep fried ''battered'' mars bar. and you need to try some black pudding and tattie scone butties

oooo I miss tattie scone butties or a fry up breakfast with tattie scones, yum yum.

All I can say is wrap up warm, visit and experience as much as pssible as it truly is a beautiful country. I've seen most of it and its breathtaking.

I hope you have a fantastic time,it sounds like you will :rock
x :peace

it would be really cool to meet up with some of you for a drink when we're there!

Please PM me if you will be around between Dec 25 and Jan 8 and maybe we can find a time to get together.

We're pretty excited to be going to Scotland for our honeymoon! Gonna hit as many castles and whisky distilleries as possible!!! If anyone has gone, or lives there, any thoughts or ideas on what we can't miss?

Thanks!

Have fun :rock
