Though having Arwen's sword (is that Arwen's?) on the ledge over the stairs scares me just looking at it. You should put that on a ledge shelf just below it!

The ledge is deep and doesn't get much through traffic anyway...plus if someone comes through the front door univited it provides a nifty detterent
