So I'm really digging Chrome, but I have a few issues that I hope can be resolved through the settings:

  • How do you add multiple tabs that always open upon starting Google Chrome?
  • Is there any other way to get to your saved bookmarks other than opening a "+" tab and then selecting your saved bookmarks?
  • similar to above question, how the hell do I get to the bookmarks info from an existing tab?
  • I couldn't print a USPS shipping label using Chrome, it printed the page out like a webpage. Print fine from FF. Said something about enabling javascript, couldn't find that option, where is it?

Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Edit: also, anyway to auto refresh tabs like you can in FF?

Click on the "wrench" and then "options" and it's right there in the "On start up" box...select "Open the following pages" and add them..I love this option.

For the favorites/bookmarks I select the wrench and then "bookmark manager" but I think it will open the bookmarks in a new tab, I think that's what you're asking.

Javascript is "wrench", "options" then the "under the hood" tab at the top then click on "content settings", "javascript", "Allow all sites to run javascript".

Chrome seems to be the fastest browser but not as intuitive as firefox at first.

Thanks so much Al. Normally I'm fairly computer literate, but in thus case I just wanted someone to tell me. I thought I looked under the wrench options, but I'll look closer this time per you directions.

Chrome is definitely the way to go. My FF literally takes minutes to open now for some reason.

Ahhh, there's nothing like Firefox climbing up to 400+mb of memory usage on any given day...

I'm seriously considering switching over to Chrome finally, but I'm just too comfortable with Firefox. :(

Nah man....Chrome makes it easy....it transfers all ur bookmarks and ____.

Memory leak.

Yeah I read up about that last night. Going to go about uninstalling add-ons, plug-ins and extensions when I get the chance. I went about disabling plugin-container.exe because it likes to absorb memory for no apparent reason.

I still think Firefox is a resource hog.

JVM (Java Virtual Machine)

I'm already up to date with that.

Up to date on a version or up to date(knowledge) on how the code embedded translates on allocates memory storage/stacks and minimizes whenever another instance of Java is executed. That's what I was meaning by mentioning the JVM.

Well, I was referring to the version date. Admittedly I haven't kept an eye on how to keep track of how JRE or JVM allocates memory to any execution requires it, but I don't think it's something that a standard user of Firefox should have to do. I am frugal with my extensions, and my non-Firefox Java applications run fine. I'll get back to you once I've uninstalled my extensions and plug-ins and trying everything I can think of.
