Just wanted to bump this thread as I watched the movie last night and instantly fell in love with Rocket Raccoon and desperately want him in my collection :love he was just fantastic! Infact, the GOTG movie as a whole was massive success....easily one of my favourite Marvel movies to date and one which I enjoyed from start to finish! For those who haven't seen the movie yet, your in for a treat...

P.S. I though the soundtrack to the movie was also first class!! :rock

well i'd start with Annihilation...volumes 1,2 and 3
then continue with Annihilation: Conquest...volumes 1 and 2

from there move to GOTG: Legacy (vol 1)...GOTG: War of The Kings Book 1 (vol 2)...GOTG: War of Kings Book 2 (vol 3) and finally to GOTG: Realm of Kings (vol 4)

that should keep you busy for awhile :)

Agree. If you want a more similar to the movie comic, and not as much of an investment. Just catch up on the Marvel. Now Guardians of the Galaxy run.

meh..written by Bendis
tried the first 3 issues but didn't have the stomach for anymore of his writing...awful (imho)

It's Marvel my friend, kids go see them :)

I thought this was the least kid friendly version out of all the marvel films. So many references that they wouldn't have a clue about. But then again they just go for the special effects.

Had some 4 year old in the cinema yesterday who did not stop coughing, felt like throwing my popcorn at him

Well, there's something special for all ages. Just because it has a lot of references for the older audience doesn't make it less kid friendly. Kids will have so many things to love about this movie, and even more stuff once they get older.

Exactly. Just because there are lots of things a kid will miss doesn't mean the kid isn't loving it - it just means there's different things for everyone in the audience. Think of all the references for adults Pixar throws in - it's like that on steroids.

One could maybe argue this was the most "adult" Marvel movie when it came to dialogue - more obscenities, an ejaculate joke, lots of above-kid-knowledge references. But I don't think that translates into not kid friendly, per se. Sure, there were a few curses, and unless your kid is very advanced (in a weird way), they won't get the Jackson ******* joke. But it had a metric ton of jokes, lots of fun action, and I think the overall vibe of the movie was the most light-hearted and fun of all the Marvel movies.

I don't think I'll be getting this PF, solely due to my collecting activities. But while I loved Rocket the character, from reading the books - I came away from the movie LOVING him. I predicted (not a bold prediction, I know) that he would gain lots of new fans from the movie, because I thought his personality would translate well to the movie. But I didn't even come close to estimating how funny he would be.

Is this just a PF of Rocket on his own? Will need a pretty big base. Would have been awesome to just have him on Groots shoulder.
