I liked it too, but perfect score worthy and without issues on release it was not.

Besides, did anyone think IGN was going to rate this any way other than how they have? It's IGN. They've never met a triple A title they couldn't over-hype.

I agree in a sense. However, they don't dish out 10's as much are you are insinuating. Here is a list of games they have given 10's to going back over 10 years. That's only 12 titles out of the thousands that have come out.

I do not think any of those games deserve a perfect score
Some more close to 9/10 for instance borderlands was amazing and does not deserve a 10

Scores are relative anyway. It doesn't really matter. My only point was that IGN just doesn't dish out perfect 10's as some have said. Even if they did, that would also be relative. A review is never right or wrong for everyone. It's someone reviewing their experience. Usually if IGN gives a game a 9 or 10, I'm pretty confident I will enjoy it.

Now there are also times when a game is given a 4 and I still enjoy it. Althought there is a far greater risk to my finances when I make that leap.

Yeah I totally agree , there are some games that have been given terrible ratings and I have really enjoyed the game first that comes to mind is fracture.

I didn't say they dished out perfect 10's, I said they gave GTA 4 a perfect score, despite the issues the game had (and despite being a quality game, it had more than a few, especially on initial release), and that they have a history of overhyping Triple A titles. Which is hardly a secret.

Giving a 9 or a 9.5 to a game unworthy of that high a score it is just as bad as giving out an unwarranted 10. It's all from the same Triple A overhype playbook.

I'm not saying this isn't a worthy game, it'll likely be great fun, all my initial point was is that I don't exactly place a lot of value on IGN's scores, that's all.

At the end of the day when it comes to any game, the only opinion that should ever really matter to any gamer is their own.

Given a 9.0. The reviewer was a woman... says the game is misogynistic.

Actually that Girl was once a man who is NOW a woman transgender. (changed his name) True Story. So take that as you will.


GS is hard on games and gave it a 9. Which is great! They gave Last of Us an 8.

Game is gonna be epic and provide years of fun even without the DLC. I don't even really play vids that much anymore, but i am a GTA fanboy to the core!

(Won't be playing till late tomorrow night cause of work! Gotta Sleep work nights and have tomorrow off thankfully!)

Disappointed that IGN only gave it 10/10.

GTAIV got 10/10 ...reviews are so irrelevant here they should have just written a Spinal Tap style joke review and gave it 11.5/10
