Rest of the later scenes which showed her body and legs were real, just like seen here :D.

I absolutely loved it. It was probably the fastest 90 minutes I've ever spent watching a movie. Like others have already said - the visuals, story, direction, music... just fantastic. And I did care about these two characters. It was real time, in the moment. I found it hard not to care.

Ryan in the fetal position in the airlock was without doubt one of the best scenes I've seen in a long time. It was simple and beautiful. For me there was more emotion in that one scene than anything else I've seen this year. Outstanding direction.

Just my two cents.

Loved it as well!! That fetal position shot with the tubs looking like umbilical cords was fantastic! Among other incredible shots! The cinematography was awesome!

I saw this again in IMAX too even after swearing off the 3d stuff since the Hobbit. Best 3d film I ever saw. This will win mucho awards. I could see the Butler getting some awards too for reasons. Gravity was refreshing and also was nice to see a 90 minute non animated film that was great again. Soundtrack kills. A simple story of survival that can rock the senses. A future true story that might really happen one day. Phenomenal. Anybody who dislikes this film must really have difficulty thinking or for some reason or another was disappointed that Megatron didn't show up... LOL

The Josh didn't like the movie! Lets arm ourselves with pitchforks and steaks... Hurry, form an angry mob of villagers before he gets the Dr. to make him his bride! :wink1:

Saw this in IMAX 3D for my second viewing last week.

I dunno. I guess I still prefer 2D. I think I find the glasses distracting.

I think the ultimate viewing experience for this (and any other movie) is IMAX 2D.

Finally saw it!!!
Liked it a lot!!
Great movie and Cuarón as usual, delivers! He's such a gifted Director.
Bullock did an amazing job IMO, and I really liked the ending... Visually it's beautiful, Lubezki doing an amazing job as usual! The FX and CGI are Out of this World! :lol

My only complaint is Clooney... His character pulled me out from the movie... particularly during the
scene where Bullock gives up and he supposedly shows up... that scene kind of ruined the movie for me
But overall, an amazing movie to be watched in theaters and in 3D for sure! :rock

Loved that scene. I was confused at first. A big part of me thought he was really there, and I couldn't understand how she survived the hatch being opened. Then after realizing that all of his words were her subconscious, I found it very moving. Especially on a second viewing it's one of my favorite scenes.

Good film, but it's no "Children of Man". Drop the pretense of being deep and just go for Die Hard in Space.

Except that it has depth. So. You know. You can't really drop it.

:goodpost:

I'd buy a 1/6 Earth.

:rotfl

I viewed this in IMAX 3D last night. I enjoyed the visuals, Clooney & Bullock performances however, the story after a point became redundant. That would be my only complaint with the film....

I loved it but ultimately it felt more like a great Universal Studios ride than a movie. The symbolism was a little obvious IMO, but I thought they did a great job developing Bullock's character with minimal dialogue.

Freaking amazing film, instant classic, best sci-fi movie in a decade or 2, my heart is still beating and there were times that it had me on the verge of tears, dear lord, I would've passed out since the beginning if that was me instead of one of the astronauts. :lol

There are 2 things that bother me though, one is minor and one is major.

Minor: When Ryan was expelled from the Russian shuttle to reach the Chinese's, she did on a perpendicular straight line to the Russian shuttle's trajectory, that's not right, she should have done so with the same speed the Russian shuttle was traveling at, but this has no consequences to the story.

Major: Matt should have not died, when Ryan caught him, the inertia changed and there was nothing pulling away Matt anymore, in fact, any pull from Ryan to bring Matt closer should have brought both closer to the Russian shuttle, sadly this one escaped Cuarón and does affect the story.

Everything else is just god damned fantastic, the characters, performances, the visuas, the sound, the soundtrack, the debris sequences are crazy, just wow.

11/10, best movie in years!

I agree with your assessment, and I can't wait to see it a third (and forth) time. But this is not a Sci-Fi movie. At all.

I'm not going to make my reply with spoilers. The topic has been discussed openly.

This issue is my only problem with the movie. There are several threads about it on IMDB, and I have been trying to make sense of the whole thing.

Here's a quote from IMDB that puts my feelings well:

I just saw the movie, and this was my biggest question too.
Both astronauts were pulled taught against the space station, so Kowalski should not have had any (relative) momentum, and Stone should have been able to easily reel him in. Also, Kowalski shouldn't have swiftly floated away when he detached himself. Where's the force coming from?
I was blown away by the movie, so it's a shame they included this seemingly obvious error (maybe for plot purposes?). They seemed to get the physics right otherwise, so this mistake is really glaring.

From the reading I have done, it seems that the only justification for him being pulled away is centrifugal force caused by them traveling in a large arc with the spot where the straps were caught being a pivot point. However, even after watching it a second time it really just looks like he is being pulled by magic. The "arc" is not at all obvious, if it even exists at all.

To be clear, I think Kowalski needed to die for the plot to come home, I just think that scene should have made what was happening more clear.
