Green Lantern---Blackest Night (Spoilers)

Well, I don't know about Hal being able to manipulate all of them. In Sinestro Corps War it was established that while he could indeed use a yellow ring, he was unable to manipulate the power of fear. And while I could see him using just about all of the others, given his contact with the blue and red rings, I don't see him being greedy (cus that was Parallax's lust for power working through him, no?) I just hope that Johns doesn't make Hal this 'Ultimate Lantern' everyone keeps speculating. There's got to be a cooler way to finish the Black Lanterns than that...

And I really hope this is where Bruce comes back as Batman, but I think Grant Morrison will be the one writing that story.

Man, I do not want to wait until this is all collected. Spoilers or no, I cannot wait to read this whole story.

I am playing catch up on GL----
Does each ring represent an emotion?
Also I remember reading GL as a kid---wasn't yellow the only color that the green ring would not work on--do these new color rings have a anti-color?

Yes, some of them do. Blue for example can decharge a yellow lantern, but charge a green lantern. So I think at least the blues and greens will team up since they are so compatible.

As for the BN figures, I'm very tempted by them. I know I'll get at least the Black Lanterns, but since pretty much everything but the GLs are cool alien creatures that Mattel isn't likely to visit anytime soon, it might be worth it to get them as well. I'll probably just end up buying them all in sets.

And its nice to see series 3 without all of the other figures overlapping? Any pics of seires 4 yet, or at least Wonder Woman (since she wasn't shown in the group shot)?

read BN #1 today and i find it really interesting. the artwork was top notch, but since i'm not up to date on DC stuff i'm not sure what has gone on...like for instance i did not know that bruce wayne was dead??? when did this happen??

I'm not exactly up-to-date either, so I just googled it when I was reading. Darksied killed him with his omega beams (I think). Supposedly they don't actually kill the mind/spirit/etc so only Bruce's body is supposed to be dead, so I don't think there will be Black Lantern Batman. Maybe Green or other colored Lantern Batman, but not black.


I could really relate to Flash though since he is just as clueless

Wonder Woman isn't dead right? Its unlikely she'd be a Black Lantern unless they decide to kill her all of a sudden. I don't like the BL look of Aquaman they should have kept the black color scheme, the muted yellow looks kinda stupid. While no Connor Kent as a Black Lantern is disappointing I'm hoping for some notable returns as Black Lanterns I want the original Blue Beetle, Big Barda, Kalibak, Abun Sir, Tomar Re, Doomsday and I want them to really hit under the belt I want Jonathan Kent as a Black Lantern.

Well, Hawkman and Hawkgirl got killed off in BN #1 and now are Black Lanterns, so just because someone isn't dead yet doesn't mean they won't and can't become a Black Lantern. And Ted was one of the names commanded to rise so I think we will see a Black Lantern Blue Beetle. Not sure on the rest though.

I'm torn on the Aquaman coloring. I'd have to see the orange turned silver first before deciding which would work better. But he definatley stands out and ruins the black and silver coloring.

I don't think they ever made it clear on how Bruce died?

Bruce was "killed" by Darkseid but not one person is believing that he is actually dead. Every site is using words like reported and alleged. Johns said in this saga you'll find out what exactly happened to Bruce but nothing beyond that. A Black Lantern Bruce Wayne would be a real shock to the system but I'm not holding my breath.

Jesus....the checklist for Blackest Night is extensive and this is all classfied as "Part One"

That is nothing compaired to all of the Civil War comics a few years ago. I would pick up 2-3 every week easily. At least we get the first week of the month off and only 1 or 2 per week after that. Not too bad. Under $10 a week.

Can't believe I missed that Black Lantern Firestorm

I've been reading WW, the only other DC title I get, and she's been dealing with Genocide and Zeus.

Not sure where WW fits in with the Blackest Night.

As far as Batman...I have no idea about his supposed "death".
