:D

Looks good, now let's go rip some hearts out... :mummy

It really is going to be interesting what will happen to all of these Black Lanterns when this is through. I mean Hawkman and Hawkgirl got killed and turned into Black Lanterns so there is at least 2 major characters that started this event alive and now aren't. I mean will the Blue Beetle come back? I think that is what is going to be most interesting - how they are going to get out of this.

Whoa! Where'd the pic of Blue Beetle as a BL come from? That's actually new to me... surprisingly.

So I was reading back on some of the "Origins & Omens" tie-ins and something caught my attention. In Adventure Comics #0, where we are first hinted about Conner "Superboy" Kent's return before his resurrection in Legion of 3 Worlds, Scar speaks of one who will save Lex Luthor from Superman, Brainiac, and from himself. She says that this "one" is dead and that they control the dead. Naturally (and because there is a giant picture of him above the quote) we believe this person to be Superboy as a resurrected Black Lantern in the near future. BUT, here's the thing, the return of Superboy in LO3W would contradict this and Scar (and the DC Editorial Staff) wouldn't have made a folly like this so I'm wondering if it's just a ploy to make us think it's Conner that will save him.

SPECULATION TIME. During Scar's witnessing the events we are also shown that Lex Luthor is examining Brainiac at the behest of General Sam Lane for his Project 7734 (see the Superman titles for more info on this project). If you'll also remember, General Lane also has the remains of a dead Doomsday (killed recently by the combined might of several Kryptonians) in his possession and has Luthor also working to improve him for his "project." So my question is what if she is referring to Doomsday and NOT Superboy?

Or maybe I'm wrong. Adventure Comics #1 has Conner researching the actions of not only Superman but also Lex Luthor, who he equally shares DNA with. Solicitations for Adventure Comics #2 also feature Brainiac on the cover so what Scar was seeing may have nothing to do with Blackest Night but was just a glimpse into the future of what will surround Lex Luthor in the coming months. But whether it be within the pages of Blackest Night or the Superman titles I am anticipating a return from Doomsday. Kinda makes you wonder if Doomsday may play role in BN considering the fact that he is indeed dead right now. If not, he'd make a great addition to the Red Lantern Corps.

Never even thought of Doomsday---how awesome that would be.

How great is that-----very cool!!!!!

ALSO...

The Flash family

They play key roles in just about every major "crisis." Barry Allen's sacrifice in Crisis on Infinite Earths, the entire Flash family rushing Superboy-Prime in Infinite Crisis, Barry's resurrection and team-up with Wally West to stop Darkseid in Final Crisis, and Bart Allen's resurrection in Legion of 3 Worlds to help the Legion, Superboy, Sodam Yat, and Superman stop Superboy-Prime and his villainous Legion. Is it any coincidence that Barry was resurrected and has a new title, Flash Rebirth, (which is written by Geoff Johns who is also the writer of Blackest Night) where is transformed into the Black Flash. For anyone not up to date on the Flash legacy, the Black Flash is basically the incarnation of death for all speedsters. The original Black Flash has made several appearances in the past 2 decades from being there at the deaths of both Barry (Crisis on Infinite Earths) and Bart Allen (Flash: The Fastest Man alive) and also attempting to chase Wally to the end of time. And is it any coincidence that in Green Lantern #44 there are a few instances where there is a glimpse of Barry and Green Lantern Hal Jordan having a mark on their faces of a decaying skull (much like other Black Lanterns) when the Martian Manhunter speaks to them?

It's no secret that the voice of "death" (revealed to be the villain Nekron) is upset about the number of heroes who have escaped death. Green Lantern #43 mentions others such as Clark Kent (Superman), Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), Oliver Queen (Green Arrow), Kilowog (Green Lantern), Hal Jordan (Green Lantern), Tora Olafsdotter (Ice), Conner Kent (Superboy), Bart Allen (Kid Flash/Impulse), Barry Allen (The Flash).

Black Hand: Yes, I see them all... and I see those that have escaped death. Those that have died and yet been resurrected. You want them back.

Death: I want them ALL.

It's also worth mentioning some of the key players that could possibly cause trouble for the Black Lanterns that are being taken out of commission like Hawkman & Hawkgirl who continue to die and become reincarnated which throws the victory of death out of balance, The Spectre who is God's spirit of vengeance, and Booster Gold (see Origins & Omens). When Crispus Allen (the current host of The Spectre) is embraced as a Black Lantern he (or more likely The Spectre) cries out saying he wants Hal Jordan back. Hal was the most recent host for The Spectre before returning to the land of the living and to the role of Earth's Green Lantern.

Just finished the GL issue. SPOILERS follow.

First off, where are the green lanterns? John Stewart was like in one panel and Boodika and some other on one page later on. The first half was moslty a Star Saphires vs Sinestro issue, which I thought wasn't all that great. But the last half is where thing heat up!

The Black Lantern power battery is now at over 45% charged! Wow! :google

It looks like the fallen Sinestros are back. I'm assuming the guy talking to Sinestro was Amon Sur, Abin Sur's son.

But the, oh, but then all of Agent Orange's victims came back. Agent Orange is going to be in some trouble! I can easily see the Orange Lanterns being taken out since there is only the one and now his corp has turned on him!

I've never read a Teen Titans comic before, but this one was good! Spoilers!

This issue takes place back on heroes day (was that the prologue issue?). Hawk and Dove are remembered and the new Hawk and Dove are the central characters. The original Dove still can't be brought back, but Hawk does. Hawk sees the new Hawk as Rage and can't identify Dove's emotion. It was just a squiggly line and she was colored white. This would definately support the White Lantern theory. Perhaps Original Dove will come back as one of those? Oh yeah, Hawk rips out Hawk's heart too.

Also Beastboy's old girlfriend comes back and they make out, but another BL messed with his mind to see her as normal.

Perhaps the creepiest thing was "mommy" coming from Donna Troy's baby carriage in her room. Could they go so far as to have a Black Lantern baby?!?! :google

Yeah my thoughts exactly. "Mommy" was the holy ^^^^ moment in that issue. They might do it but I bet it was an hallucination that Donna was experiencing since a BL was causing hallucinations at that very same time with Gar, Beastboy seeing his dead girlfriend... The GL issue was damn good too what with Larflreeze, the Orange Lantern, getting ready to get taken out. The Sinestro/Star Sapphire/Carol Ferris dialogue was also good with Sinestro's backstory being revealed a little bit with someone he apparently cared for. And then the Yellow Lanterns and Sinestro breaking out and getting ready to take on Mongul--HELL YES! It's on now! And then Scar and the Black Lanterns turning their attention to the Indigo Tribe at the end. Yeah, the holy ^^^^ moments keep coming...
