Jazzinc 1/6 Batman 1989 Batmobile

My biggest concern about this vehicle was the paint quality and those pictures unfortunately confirm my fears. I also noticed some serious paint flaws in one of the YouTube reviews that had it outside in the sunlight. I just don't think you're going to get consistent quality paint jobs out of a factory in China.

You could. I would say most toys, if not all, with high quality paint job come out of China. HT Iron Man has good consistent paint jobs. A lot of Japanese franchises with toys come out of China and have exceptional paint finish.

This Batmobile is a very impressive fan creation project, but certainly an expensive one. After having in hand for almost a full day and admiring its design and construction, I can honestly say its pretty good but not great. Mostly because of the paint inconsistency on my particular Batmobile.

Not sure if my old phone camera can capture the level of visual fidelity that will properly convey the orange peel texture correctly as I see and feel it in hand, but its mainly noticeable near the rear-end of the vehicle especially around the both rear fender sides.

The car's exhaust cowling cover I used to contrast the difference in texture here. The cover has a smooth, even layer. Maybe this isn't considered super severe, but its definitely noticeable, more so than any molding indentations.

it's really nice but for that price it should be near perfect !

Having some of Jazzinc's other vehicles, I always thought that paint finish is one of their weaknesses. I was hoping it would have changed with this release.

I would like to ask your feedback though on the mold indentations on your batmobile if you're willing to.

The paint on my 66 is absolutely flawless, so it's a shame if they weren't able to do the same with this car. But then after my initial unboxing I probably won't be looking at this in extreme closeup anyway, and only need it to look good on display from a distance like the rest of my collection.

Overall, I'm glad to own it.The size and shape of this car are really amazing to witness in person, and the curves of the car are just fantastic! The tires look really cool and are very detailed. The whole thing just has such a great presence. Reminds me of when I saw the real car at World of Wheels back when I was a youngster, definitely nostalgic and awesome.

Like everyone else has stated before me, the light up features, especially the dashboard are incredibly done! The moving turbine and smoke effect is also a very cool addition with the remote functionality.

However, the sound effects and audio clips are terrible and leave a lot to be desired. It could of definitely been made without or just executed it better. It all just sounds really loud and garbled. That my opinion though, to each their own.

I could easily nitpick all the defects on this toy but it's kinda the nature of the beast with these individually produced items to have flaws and imperfections. Nothing is ever perfect so I'm not too overly concerned by a lot of the minor issues.
The paint application unfortunately kinda sucks on mine and detracts from some of the enjoyment.

Not sure it be worth the hassle of requesting a replacement (if that was even an option?) with the chance that it maybe no different or the degree of time and cost involved to even do a exchange shipment.

Thank you for posting these pictures and for your honest assessment. Regarding the paint: It wouldn't hurt to reach out and ask. While returns, especial one this big, can be an inconvenience, it may be worthwhile if Jazz determines the paint on yours is not up to their standards.

I'm glad to hear you're pleased with it overall. Judging by the pics, the size and shape is certainly impressive!

You could think of the paint flaws as being "real-world" accurate since I can't imagine batman being a professional painter with a paint booth haha

Well, I ended up cancelling and am thankful that Joost offered the full refund this one time.
I have no complaints.

I do still think this looks amazing, but the internet (especially the JazzInc FB group) kind of ruined it for me and I'm happy to be able to walk away.
It's unlikely anyone will ever attempt this in 1/6 again- so I'm happy to let someone else have their waitlist convert! Enjoy!

Regarding the mold imperfections, it is definitely a situation of ignorance is bliss though. I know about it so I can hone in on it and point it out. My wife, son or a complete stranger that looks at this Batmobile will probably never see it.

That being said, the imperfections are definitely there on the vehicle but they're actually not extremely noticeable in hand, unless you are really trying to look for it. I think if the car didn't have the reflective gloss paint, it probably wouldn't be seen.

When you run your fingers across the front fender behind the wheel well, you can feel a very subtle vertical mold line. There is also the horizontal side panel piece that has a very slight surface sinking to the touch. They are there, but it is very minimal.

I am not trying to sugarcoat it, but visually speaking (at least for mine) you can only see a glint of the surface sinking on the side and a barely visible vertical line behind the front wheel well, it just really depends on the angle of the lighting and your angle of approach to see it.
