My gut feeling was always that the Corp needed to really shine collectively for this movie to work or else it would fail, and that's what I keep reading over and over, that they just sit there and drink tea talking about being cops of the cosmos.

Umm, doh!

Still going to see it though to judge for myself :hi5:

I would pay for a ticket to watch Tomar Re drink a cup of tea. :duff

Midnight crowds are the worst. Damn kids don't know when to STFU.

It's a hit or miss really.

Roll of the dice :lol

My personal experiences have been better at midnight than at other times.

For the most part, you have to be a fan to be there at midnight and I want to be surrounded by that kind of atmosphere.

I'm freaking exhausted but it's worth it.

I honestly don't give a damn what these movie reviewers have to say at all. They don't buy my movie ticket so I don't care. I'm still feeling quite good about this flick. Looking forward to tomorrow at midnight.

Well Transformers and Pirates have done well, and those movies stink to high heaven, so who knows what is going to happen until after the weekend?

Man, Dino you must really hate these movies? :lol

Luckily all my midnight crowds are made up of good people/fans. The last time I saw a movie that wasn't at midnight was Incredible Hulk and it wasn't as good a crowd. Guess that's just my theater. They made Wolverine and Terminator Salvation very fun, but I also enjoyed that flick myself. To each their own.

Just the fight sequences in space will have me squealing inside like a little girl, so who knows.

I just don't often see eye to eye with "official" movie reviewers. I care more about what my friends or fellow boardies have to think about movies than some guy at IGN or whatever.

I loathe film critics. Like you, I'd rather know & hear what a friend or family member thinks.

There are just a few boardies here that I like to listen to their opinions about movies. You being one of them. :D :duff

The bad reviews won't affect my enjoyment of the film, I like plenty of flicks that were critically panned.

What it does mean though, is that our chances of a sequel are slimming. :monkey2

I'm sure of that. :lol Most of these movies do as well.

Like X-Men 1 and 2, Spider-Man 1 and 2, Iron Man, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, X-Men: First Class and Thor? Usually the superhero "event" films with the bigger budgets tend to have their act together and find a way to win over the critics. Most pans are reserved for low budget drek like Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Catwoman, etc.

Why isn't Green Lantern getting the same treatment? The last big budget non-sequel superhero film that was reviewed this poorly was Ang Lee's The Hulk. Did you scoff at the critics and enjoy that one in spite of its poor reviews?

Yeah, I pretty much loathe most of them.

Thank ya sir and back at ya. :duff

Same here. As long as I've had a good time with it thats my main concern.

Maybe but I think it will get one.

Sure they get good reviews as well. Just that there are more than plenty of crappy reviews. For the record I like all three of those low budget drek as you call them. They're not great but I do enjoy them.

I don't know. I'm not in those guys/gals heads and don't care to be. Ang Lee's Hulk was freaking terrible and I nearly walked out. That is one of the worst comic book movies I've ever seen. I don't recall the reviews on it to be honest.

The reviews were "Green Lantern" bad. I just checked rotten tomatoes to be sure. But you never know, I think POTC: On Stranger Tides is sitting at a 30-something percent and the wife and I just saw it last night and loved it.

We'll see. I haven't seen anything in the trailer that makes me feel its gonna be that at all. Professional movie reviewers thoughts on movies have virtually no impact on what I think or expect from a movie. I would disagree with you on POTC 4. The movie was average. Blackbeard sucked bad. Jack was Jack but that movie was not up to snuff for me.
