Just leave when "Death Proof" starts. You'll still have seen an entire feature-length film.

Or to be fair...leave after the first act of "Death Proof" finishes. Trust me...you'll know when that is. Starts with a creepy, suspenseful bang and then drags its a** for over an hour until a rather "blah" (IMO) ending. Yeah, it's cool but not a great payoff for having endured the previous hour.

  The final chase and the ending of Death Proof are pure gold. I would not leave early.

I take it most here have not seen real grindhouse/exploitation movies.

If you're going to miss any part of Deathproof it should be the first hour. The last 10 minutes are gold.

Just leave after Machete. It's all down hill from there. Those 2 minutes were worth the price of admission alone. Everything else is self-indulgent gratuitous violence and rambling dialogue. I'd pay real money for 2 hours of Danny Trejo as Machete though.

So, Machete wouldn't have been 2 hours full of 'self-indulgient gratuitous violence'?

Planet Terror should have shown second, 'cause I'll admit Death Proof was anti-climactic, but they were both still great.

I have seen them. And while Death Proff had it's moments, most of it was just another QT film. Just not one of his better ones.

Planet Terror was a dull zombie splatterhouse. I'm talking about about a Rambo-esque revenge film with Machete. Two completely different exploitation films. I can't stand senseless gory zombie movies. You've seen one you've seen them all.

Out of all the trailers, machete was the best. IMO, that should have been the second full length film, DP was boring for a good 40 minutes.

Thanksgiving is just plain wrong. ESp at the end, what psycho does with the turkey girl.

i heard 'Hobo with a shotgun' (fake trailer) was not included in the US version, because I didn't see it.:(

I really CANNOT wait for its release here, saw the trailer on the big screen last night when I was seeing 300( :rock ) Wait and see what the rating end up being here.

Personally, I don't really think the ending of Death Proof was enough to justify sitting through over an hour of QT's self-indulgent dialogue-fest. The movie just wasn't that interesting once the second group of girls were introduced.

It's not a matter of seeing real grindhouse/exploitation films (which I have). I just don't think Death Proof was a good movie in any sense of the word.

Which was the point. Grindhouse movies were trash with a few money shot thrown in. The cars parts were the money shots here. And Kurt Russell was awesome.

But it really doesnt matter. Grindhouse is black and white. You are either going to love it or hate it.

Well, I loved Planet Terror and all the fake trailers but hated Death Proof...

...so I guess I found a grey area there!! :D

For the record, I would go see Machete and Thankgiving in a heartbeat if they actually made them.

BEST experience in a theater I've had in a while! Awesome stuff. I liked both of the features, but Planet Terror just a little bit more than DP. Zombies, you know ;)

I really want to be Cherry Darling for Halloween... but how the heck would anyone pull that off unless they were really missing a leg?? :lol

And Zoe Bell made me want to be a stuntwoman. Seriously... my friend is currently taking a stunt/gymnastics class and I'm going with her this week

Oh, and if you haven't yet, go out and buy the soundtracks, they are both AWESOME! :chew

On edit, after reading some of the hate toward Death Proof: I really liked it because of all the Austin references... made me homesick a little. And the music. And most of the dialogue was fun, even if it extended a bit long... the 'whatever with your however' cracked me up.

Grindhouse only did $12M and came in fourth behind Are We Done Yet? :google I didn't expect it to do so poorly.

I really enjoyed the whole thing...even Death Proof.

I think once word of mouth starts to spread, good or bad their totals will start rising. Those who hear good things will want to see it and those who hear bad things will want to see it to see if its bad.

I loved it and I'm giving this one NOTHING BUT good praises!

As I predicted Grindhouse came to a grinding halt at the box office. $11.6 million opening holiday weekend. It TANKED. :lol

DP (second half) was just awful, I hated it. PT was fun but the QT "drip" scene unneccesary, stupid and a turnoff.

That dude has lost his touch IMO...

I know for me it is an issue of being in the theater that long. I have a big TV and surround sound. Maybe that's why it didn't do as well. It is pretty darn long.

Titanic was longer and it is still the biggest grossing Pic by far. Word of mouth is killing this... Drops in ticket sales Fri- Sunday bears this out although Sunday was a holiday, but compared to other pics playing, it is still a huge disappointment.
