I'm glad people are enjoying this as I would like to see a third without the budget being hurt. Hopefully expectations were lowered appropriately for better enjoyment.

That said, RT has this down to 82% and a 7.1/10 -- not that I care much for RT, but it seems many do around here.

On target for $125 opening weekend. I would think Disney would be disappointed with anything less considering the amount of marketing they did for this movie.

Clear sailing for the next 3 weeks for this to take the top spot. Only Alien in the way, but despite the record amount of marketing, I doubt there is mass (family) appeal.

Before Baywatch and POTC on the 25th and 26th there's just ALIEN: Covenant on the 19th as far as serious competition. Even then ALIEN might only give it a run for its money due to it being GOTG's third weekend at that point.

RT needs to die. Blogger critics love formula and anything that deviates from that they consider lackluster. Its ****ing madness.

Doctor Strange was awful yet it currently sits at a 90%.

The age of the credible film critic is long gone. This is the age of the moron movie watcher who thinks he understands film and thus buys some web space and gets certified on RT to make money.

GOTG2 should sit at an 88/89%.

75-80/100 for me. Solid film, wish it aged like the rest of the MCU. I like Groot, but I'm getting annoyed by all this Baby Groot ****. Fun film, but Logan takes best CBM so far this year. Polar opposites, I know, but this was just another Ant-Man.

At the end of the movie, Groot isn't so little anymore lol

I give this post a 7/10.

You forgot to say, "Kevin Feige sucks" or something vintage SNIKT would say.

You deviated from your formula...ironic.

Ouch. You must have really hated it. ;)

Dude, I'm still shocked it was so good. The thing is you can tell Gunn [via his representation and lawyers] had creative control on this film. It felt more like Slither & Super than Generic MCU Movie #16.

It also helps that Bautista and Rooker are on fire in this movie. Russell is always a joy to watch so that was a given. But seeing a career working actor like Rooker dominate this $200-Million IMAX spectacle was a dream come true. His scenes with Stallone are fantastic and a complete career reversal given that 25 years ago it was Stallone on the poster of Cliffhanger with Rooker buried in the supporting cast, not even mentioned in the poster credits - and now he's the one on every poster for GOTG2 around the world while Stallone's part in the movie isn't even advertised.

The tragedy of the creative triumph that is GOTG2 is that they're next outing will be in a suit-controlled Avengers movie where RDJ will consume 70% of the material with cringe-inducing dialogue and eye-rolling CGI.

Normally I'd accept that rating but on your scale I know that means you rank it lower than every MCU movie ever made.

Just saw the film, not getting the mixed reviews.... I enjoyed it as much, if not more, than the first.

I really enjoyed Drax and Yondu this time around and Mantis was a great addition.

I agree 100%. I saw this last night and really liked it. It helps that I like all of the actors and characters, I'm really hoping they expand on the cosmic Marvel universe.

Just got back from the theatre earlier today. I liked the film, but I don't really care to see it again unless it's at the drive-in theatre. I'll probably buy it on DVD whenever it comes out.
