See, that's what I've heard. Your #3. I missed seeing him in Mesa during Free Comic Book Day at Atomic due to other priorities, so I wish I could formulate an opinion for mself. All I can go on is what other people that have met him tell me.

I liked Liefeld's work too, but maybe that was because I was young and impressionable. I DID go to get a Liefeld signing at a con and he left about 3 hours before his scheduled time.

Edit: so needless to say, I have no signed comics.

There's TONS of signed McFarlane stuff at the store... but it's all on the packaging of his figures...

Don't get me started on the quality of his figures though... It's like they're 20% mylar and 80% newsprint. They're sure pretty to have around, but there's little quality to speak of. I'd have liked to talk to T.M. about that, but what the hell...

Turner has a style that is all his own. The way he draws and continues to draw women has been imitated beyond belief. I'll give him that. He can't really draw men though, they look off and his style usually doesn't translate well into 3-D except for a few statue pieces.

For me the only non Marvel person I love to draw Spidey is J. Scott Campbell. Whenever he does a variant I usually go for that one as well. I'd love to get a Campbell set of Comiquettes like they have done for Adam Hughes.

Total agreement there... I dig Campbell's Spidey.:rock2

Totally disagree as Spider-Man was never drawn freakish until McFarlane hit the scene. There were many artists that followed him including Larsen and Bagley that continue to draw him with a heavy influence of McFarlane. I have yet to see SS produce a Spider-Man that has what I call a "classic" look based on John Romita Sr.'s style. The SS stuff may not be 100% McFarlane but the pieces I've seen, sans any movie stuff, all seem to have his influence.

It's not that unusual for Spidey fans to want some items produced in the general style of the late sixties to late eighties, a twenty year span of the character's history.

I agree with you . . . That is why the NECA spidey is one of my favorite pieces . .
