I said that line to my wife but I swapped the word apocalypse with credit card.

Nolan and Spielberg, right now, are neck and neck. Ooh, forgot about JJ. Abrams. JJ. Abrams is pretty well known right now.I'm pretty sure A LOT more people know who Spielberg is vs. most of the guys you mentioned... except maybe Scorsese
Are you sure your wife didn't say that when you pre-ordered the Burton Batmobile?![]()
She was reminded today that its coming.![]()

Well she better get the extra room ready. The baby can sleep somewhere else.
You know Sony ended up dropping Hellboy, and Universal picked it up right?
Oh yeah......
I blame the studios. They opened Hellboy against Spider-Man 2 and Hellboy 2 against The Dark Knight. Seriously?![]()
I loved them both
Because Universal is the chance giver studio. Had they not it pickled up, there would've never been a HB 2.
Mike didn't want GDT to stick to the comics. He wanted him to make his own thing.
So, blame the creator for not wanting someone to copy their work.
I'm going to not believe that until I hear him personally say it.
Mignola wanted him to do his own thing, while honoring the spirit of source material and not going crazy with it.
Guillermo didn't stick to the comics. Ever. The first film takes TONS of liberties, such as Hellboy and Liz being an item, Abe's physic abilities, the entire WWII sequence, the death of the villain, and so on. It's very different, but the tone is a match. It is in tune with the comics. At the end of the day Mike was happy with the balance struck in the first film. He told me so.
Hellboy II was completely a GTD film. It had bizarre humor and was inconsistent in tone. It felt like a different universe from the first film. It also felt nothing like the comics. Mike didn't care for it as much. He told me that too.
