Ok the fat lady really was rude and had no right yelling at the others... but i really dislike how when ever anyone has anything to say about the earth they are automatically a tree hugger or hippy... i really didnt find the truck with the bikers video funny was pretty sad to see such beautiful landscape being destroyed... i like camping fishing and all that good stuff along like breathing that comes from nature.

It kinda funny in a boneheaded way but on the whole whaddadouche. :slap

Politics aren't relevant to this thread.

Clearly the lady is just a _____. End. Of. Story.

that's what I'm saying though. make fun of the lady all you want, but people are saying stuff I hate hippies or comments like i don't care how much of an impact has on my environment . Just when I point it out people have to be like politics aren't relevant,

What do modern day hippies have to do with politics? :dunno

No idea. But normally when people say I hate hippies or tree huggers it normally means people who stick up for animals or the environment, which urks me because i love both those things and just because some fatty is crazy and rude, it give people the okay to say they hate an entire group. I'm sure if some dude in the NRA killed a bunch of people you would defend people saying I hate NRA members.

That cyclist video is amazing. I really have no problem with anyone on the road, but once I hit downtown (Houston, which is trying SO HARD to be Austin), cyclists are my mortal enemy. Especially the ones who carry those batons around and will hit your damn car even when you're actively trying to be courteous to them. They've got an attitude problem here, I swear.

I recall only pointing out that they usually preach save the environment drizzle and then jump into a car that won't pass smog (which I've seen on dozens of occasions). Who said anything about hate? :huh

The fact is... she is not wrong, but if she polite or was attractive that car would have been turned off in a heartbeat... Also to me, everyone in that video seemed like a Redneck...

No, she is wrong. It's not her business. Now if she HAD to say something, HADDDDD too...she should've asked politely. If she did, there would be no issue. Looks have nothing to do with it. But they do represent her insides. Ugly, rude, and nasty.

So if someone doesn't like something you're doing, they have the right to come right up into your face screaming obscenities within earshot of your kids, demanding you turn off your truck and blaming you for life?

:lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly:

The key word here people!!.

But, still even if she was polite about this i'd still laugh at her.

I'm a tree-hugger at heart, but at the same time I realise that sanctimony is almost always based on selective ignorance. I can frown upon the guy in the old V8 Ford who chugs around town when he could be driving a more fuel-efficient car. It'd be harder for me to consider how many miles of emissions-belching flight time I rack up each year traveling to conferences. It's easy to pick on the guy with the V8 because he's an individual, whereas I can ignorantly let myself off the hook because I'm just one passenger on a flight carrying over 100 or 200 people. Truth be told that while I care for the environment, I probably do a heap of stuff I'm not aware of that contradicts my claim to sustainable living.

What this heinous woman is basically talking about is not sustainability - clearly she herself is not living sustainably - but her selfish sense of entitlement that leads her to believe that she gets to use a space the way she wants to, but nobody else gets to use the space the way they want to. Had she been civil about it she might have understood that this guy was simply running his engine to keep the AC on so his sleeping kid wasn't baking in the heat.

Out of curiosity if someone pulled up next to the diesel couple's home with their child trying to sleep or even say in a parking lot, and blared music, would they allowed to be upset? it's all relative. just because you can do something doesn't mean you should and be a douche.

This lady's rant isn't over the environment, that was just a way for her to escalate the issue and try to have a reason for being upset that wasn't entirely selfish. It was really about the couple aggravating someone trying to relax and refusing to either turn off the vehicle or move.

What we don't see is what happened before the guy decided to film it.

I'll bet she nicely walked up, asked him to turn the car off, he laughed at her and told her to ____ off. She comes back and the guy starts filming and tries to pretend to be the nice guy on camera after he already fanned the situation.

At the end of the day it's a parking lot. This woman gets her commune with nature in a parking lot? She can't walk a mile away from the parking lot? "Hey family, let's all go get in touch with nature by hanging out in a parking lot, fun huh? And green - no cars in a parking lot, no way!"

The same could be said for this couple with the kid. They find enjoyment in sitting in a car in a parking lot too! Fine, what if some guy with a huge bass system pulled up next to this couple that is sitting around in the parking lot with their child? Could they too ask, wtf to the guy with the sound system. I'll bet the truck family would be up in arms.

A little courtesy goes a long way. People with big trucks know what they're doing and they 1) don't care or 2) enjoy annoying people.

They deserve the feedback as well as the huge gas bill. :lol

The emissions coming out of this guy's truck are comparable to the emissions coming out of just about every car that enters or exits that car park, as well as the emissions coming out of every car that travels along what appears to be a main road in the background. This guy may be contributing a little more than his fair share in this particular environment, but negligibly so it appears.

The example you offer of a guy with a loud stereo would be relevant if he was one of several who were also pumping out the decibels. But on his own he of course would be a douche, given that noise travels a lot further over land before it dissipates than emissions - which basically float up into the atmosphere.

I can get where you're coming from generally, but in this case the guy appears to have a legit reason for doing what he's doing - he's not really harming anyone or anything by leaving his engine ticking over. He's harming this woman's sensibilities more than her health. Plus, as has been said, the main issue people have with this clip is the way she went about getting her views across.
