I got your back crows. :wink1:
The new one is decent. At least there was no wax off.

thats what I meant, I didn't know how to say it, but EVERYONE was making fun of the movie even back then, not sure when it became a classic.

Making fun? The original has great character and lots of heart. People say wax on wax off because it's a great sequence. Sweep the leg? Say those two quotes and everyone knows what you are talking about. Can you do that with the remake? I love Jackie Chan, but will take Morita over him every single time as Miyagi. It got a pretty good sequel too.

The new one has ........ Will Smith's kid.

he's definitely the weak link in the movie, no doubt, I think most of the hate for the remake from critics was just because of him, And I have a feeling that if they had cast a better person the movie would have been better received. I dont know, he is a spoiled brat in the movie. But I think everything else was done well.

And most people thought Jackie Chan was going to suck and he is basically the best thing of the movie.
he was very troubled and had a lot of issues and they handle that well. he was really messed up, the kid helps him overcome his drinking and his inner demons, I liked that part a lot. (cant remember if the original did this, at least I cant recall )

I think I can look past the Bratty Smith kid just because Jackie chan is such a jerk to him for the first half :lol

i dont know which is more insulting, calling karate kung fu or the other way around. sheeesh.

thats like calling obama mexican or calling snoopy a cat.

If it makes you feel better, they were very well aware of that goof and in fact in asia the movie was called the kung fu kid.

Jackie Chan was ok with being called karate kid for recognition.

Jackie chan was the person that came up with the "jacket" training.

It was all his idea.
