Hey guys so I was flipping through channels and tend to stop and give things Halloween related a chance and found a pretty cool show I think alot of you may enjoy on the Food Network called Halloween Wars.

Especially because I recognized Andy Bergholtz, a very talented sculptor and member of the forums here. Basically the show features several teams who compete against each other creating halloween based multi media pieces that are then judged by a celebrity panel. Last week's featured Tom Savini as a judge.

For the main challenge they had to build a scary edible clown. One of each team's members is a pro sculptor who carves a pumpkin as a centerpiece or in this case the head of the clown, while the rest of the team makes the body out of cake or rice crispy treats and adds other parts like cotton candy hair. It's cool and creepy and they come up with some truely impressive stuff, well worth a watch. It's on Sundays, not sure what time, I think around 8-9 pm, I caught the rerun on thursday and have been meaning to mention it here.

Heres Andy's Jack in the box from the show

saw the premiere last week and it's pretty awesome hope andy and his team win the competition

Saw the first episode of this season when it aired and watched last year's episode as well. Kind of funny that Andy Bergholtz INTENTIONALLY carved the pumpkin to look like a child did it and the judges STILL criticized him on his carving skills, even after being informed that he meant to do that.

In last year's competition, Ray Villafane's carving was heads above any of the other competitors. Unfortunately, it was heads above the rest his team's work as well, overshadowing their contributions (in the eyes of the judges) and cost them.

Oh, yeah, I LOVE me some Food Network, especially in HD. :lol

Another cool episode this week, I really dig what these guys are able to come up with in such a tight time frame. Seems like the blown sugar thing is too risky for the time they have to work with though, that womans always struggling.

Just watch my first episode and was shock Andy B was in this. Wow has he lost weight. Super talented man and with food too. Simply wow.

His team is doing awesome! :rock

I've caught all of the eps so far, and after tonight's win, I'm hoping they take the finals.

Good luck, Andy!

I can't believe dead man walking won. Andy's team got rob big ass time. What a shame...

I thought both teams did a pretty impressive job, but (and my opinion is a bit biased) I felt Andy's team's display was more impressive. The detail on the face sculpts and the shading was phenomenal. And it just felt more complete. I didn't like the 'painted' moon that the other team used. It felt more like a picture backdrop than actually part of the display.

I think the other team though had a few more elements that happened to give them the edge though. (ie. Dragonfly, ribs, etc.)

It was a tough call either way. Both were just WOW.

Couldn't agree more. I really liked dead men walking in the beginning of the series but as it progressed I felt Andy's team did better,
and should have won the final competition.
