From IGN:
Approximately 15,000 Halo: Reach players have had their in-game credit reset after an exploit to speed up the amount of credit earned was recently discovered.
Bungie says it identified players who were the "most egregious Challenge Reset abusers" and that a one day credit earning ban has also been applied. The team is carefully selecting the criteria to eliminate false positives going forward.
"Specifically, we targeted an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via intentional network manipulation (i.e., disconnects.)," the developer wrote on its forums.
A more comprehensive pass is coming in the coming weeks that will automatically begin banning players. "If you are thinking about getting an easy 50k credits by using this exploit, I would strongly advise you to reconsider," Bungie added.
In August, Microsoft started banning players who acquired pirated copies of Halo: Reach weeks early before the game's September 14 release date. The company announced first day sales of the game in the United States and Europe topped $200 million in sales.
Negative. I rented it on the first day, but only had it for a week and half. Am I that good that I leave a lasting impression??
