Halo: Reach Television Ad Shows the "Birth of a Spartan"
Making big budget advertisements to promote Halo on Xbox 360 is nothing new. Halo 3 had its funky Master Chief miniatures and ODST had its solemn "We Are ODST" ad with intense battlefield sequences, showing that even in a futuristic sci-fi universe, war is still hell.
Halo: Reach will be getting a similarly epic promo this week with a live-action short to be broadcast this week, showing the origins of Carter 259, leader of Noble Team.
The 60-second live-action short entitled "Birth of a Spartan", directed by award-winning feature film director Noam Murro charts the journey of Carter 259 from young man to powerful Spartan super soldier.
"Birth of a Spartan" debuts on UK television via Sky Sports 2 on April 27th following the full-time whistle of the Champions League semi-final Lyon vs Bayern Munich with a second chance to catch it on ITV1 after the Champions League semi-final match between Barcelona and Inter Milan on April 28th.
In North America, the short will air on a variety of networks across different shows. US and UK networks Comedy Central, Spike TV, FX, Bravo, TNT and TBS will all see the ad air during commercial breaks.
If you're still scared that somehow you'll miss the commercial this week, there's the US multiplexes where the advert will also be running during the opening weekend of Iron Man 2 on April 28th until May 13th.
Failing that, we'll sort you out on Wednesday 28th April, where you can watch "Birth of a Spartan" at your own convenience on the best website in the whole wide world. That's here by the way.
You can also see it on
www.welcometonobleteam.com from April 27th 5am GMT, where you'll be able to upload your photo and create an image of yourself as a Spartan III.
