The more I examine my finances the more I am realizing I will likely not be able to afford these with Vader and other Con-ex I want more (Doctor Who). :monkey2

Considering both figures come with new headsculpts and these newly sculpted helmets, I think $200 is the least you can expect to pay. I wouldn't be completely shocked if it goes as high as $210-$220. I don't see them being $250 though.

I think that anything over $200 is not going to go over well, at least not for me. It just kills me that these things drop in value so much, we pay so much up front and then about a half a year to a year later you can buy some Star Wars figures for $30!! Shipped! .....If it's over $200, I have to take a chance and play the waiting game and hope that I can pick them up for like $100 down the road.

I fondly recall the days when 1:6 figures were always around the same price no matter what new sculpts/accessories they had. But TheObsoleteMan is correct... whenever Sideshow has to dip into their own pockets for R&D, they pass on that cost to us... after they also adjust the profit margin.

My guess: $209.99 minimum to $249.99 max.

This is th only reason why I have cancelled the most recent figures, Ill pick em up later. If this ends up being to costly Ill do the same

But they don't have to sculpt the body or the armor, that's already been done. Also, the inside of the helmets is only the inside of the helmets, not the whole helmet. I'd like them to be $179.99, but think $189.99 is more realistic. Anything more than that and I'll play the waiting game as well b/c when they hit the secondary market the prices drop like a rock. Anyways, not going to ^^^^^ about pricing just yet b/c these figures are pretty darn amazing.

:chew

I'm pretty happy with the way they look. For me this is a Sideshow homerun! I'm still thinking this is going to be north of 200, but maybe not the 250 I was thinking it would be a few pages ago on this thread.

Those have to be production samples, wouldn't you think? We're only a few months away from the con, afterall.

Very possible. But we also don't know how long ago the prototypes were completed and when these pics/videos were made. It's also possible that those are still prototypes.

Ok, well I finally got home and was able to view the second set of images and the video itself. They look fantastic, very excited! The more I look at them though, it doesn't appear as if these samples have their eyes painted. It could just be me, or maybe the quality of the video, but they don't look finished to me. No "doll dots" that way though:lol

Price is a little concerning for me, but not a showstopper. My birthday is in July and my mom usually gives me $$, so if I can't affors these on my own, I can supplement with that. They might be my only birthday present this year, but well worth it IMO.

Or is the only difference in that the attendees will pick them up personally and have them in hand sooner?

Actually, they will probably start to ship out to non-attendees the week before SDCC. In the past, we have seen exclusives in the hands of non-attendees before attendees have been able to get theirs. Your mileage may vary.

At any rate, non-attendees won't have to wait long at all.

My guess of a $180 price tag vanished when I saw the detail on the inside of the helmet--but that's OK!

That's kind of what I'm thinking.

For price I'm going to predict $180ish attendee, $190ish non-attendee.

These are F'N awesome!!! Wow, my feelings on these changed dramatically over the last few weeks. I went from "meh, easy repaints - don't need" to feeling like I'm witnessing a whole new class of Sideshow SW figures. I'm extremely impressed. But the price will hurt. That's pretty much a guarantee at this point. :monkey2

ok, beter pics of the sclupts. while a little goofy, I Like em.
not enough to replace the REgular Han and luke sculpts, but enough.

So my question is, do they come with helmets that they CAN wear, or atleast swap the heads with?

SS will be utilizing the armored bodies and suits for some time to come, so it's not a matter of a "one-off" raising prices, in this case. If the price of this set is anything over $190.00, I'll be playing the usual "waiting game" myself. I really like this set, too.

No. The podcast has stated these helmets are not swapable and these are the only helmets they will come with. They are an accessory for them to hold, not wear.

Last time I predicted a price for something from SSC it was the GI Joe environment and I was thinking $60-$80. It came in $120 or so.

I really really really want these, but anything much over $210 and I'm passing.
