Hannibal’ Exclusive: Bryan Fuller whets appetite for season 2 with teaser
Now that’s a Halloween costume.NBC’s sophisticated, slick, and often quite sick Hannibal will return in 2014 to serve a second course of horror and human hors d’oeuvres. To get fans psyched for the further adventures of the titular frightful foodie (Mads Mikkelsen) and tormented FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), Hannibal mastermind Bryan Fuller offers the image above to get you in the right headspace.

Explains the exec producer, who designed this poster-worthy key art in collaboration with the show’s f/x team at RocketScience:* “After a horrifying descent into madness in season 1, this image ironically represents the perspective of a scrappier, clearer-minded Will Graham in season 2.* The scales have fallen from his eyes and he finally sees Hannibal Lecter for the monster he is.”Hannibal will return early next year with a 13-episode season that begins with an outing entitled “Kaiseki.”

Season 1 was great and I can't wait for season 2 yay.

There... you happy? :p

First impression: probably one of the best looking shows on television.

With that being said, great acting and excellent writing keep it from sacrificing substance for all its style. Dancy is particularly great, as you really get a feel for his neurotic character, but he has a good handle on Graham, and he doesn't overdue it with the neuroses(something his significant other seems to have difficulty with on Homeland).

Mikkelsen's Hannibal is proving very fascinating, as well. I haven't seem enough of him quite yet to make up my mind, but so far, it seems to be quite the departure from my preconceived notions of the character, as he trades in Hopkins' theatrical flare in favor of a colder, more analytical approach.

I finished up Season 1, and I must say that I'm very impressed. The writing is exceptional, the effects are morbidly incredible, and Dancy's Graham, and his descent into madness, and the way that he performed it, was exquisite. So, if I had to guess, I'd assume that season 2 is about Will Graham clearing his name, while Season 3 is Hannibal finally being incarcerated? I'm only going on what Fuller said in an interview about the events of Red Dragon taking place within Season 4.

That does make me wonder, though, do they have this show set for a certain number of episodes, where they'll get rid of it before it can reach that point, or will it continue throughout the mythology that we've already seen? Will we get to see Clarice Starling at some point, and will Will be reduced to a background role? There are a lot of possibilities, but I'm very excited for Season 2, now that I know what all the fuss was about.

Mikkelsen's Hannibal could be one of the best villains to grace television. I've got to say, though, I wonder if the writers ever scare themselves? Between the "Angel Wings," and "The Cello," I'd be questioning my sanity if I had to come up with stuff like that for a living.:lol

They can't use Starling in this series, they don't have rights to her. It's covered earlier in this thread.

^^^Correct. Here's the basic outline of how Fuller (writer) wants the series to go:

Fuller plans for the show to run for seven seasons: the first three consisting of original material, the fourth covering Red Dragon, the fifth The Silence of the Lambs, the sixth Hannibal, and the seventh an original storyline resolving Hannibal's ending. He wants to include other characters from the book series (such as Jame Gumb and Clarice Starling) provided that he can get the rights to them from MGM. Franklin Froideveaux and Tobias Budge were created because Fuller could not secure the rights to The Silence of the Lambs characters Benjamin Raspail and Jame Gumb. Fuller has stated that Barney, an orderly at the Baltimore State Hospital, will appear in the second season.

So you can see they've already had problems acquiring characters from SOTL. Not to mention the low ratings the first season got. I doubt this show will last 7 season let alone 2 if those numbers persist. Hopefully next season the numbers will jump up.

NBC series Hannibal will make its return to TV in 2014. Although, no particular premiere date has been set some key parts to show have already been revealed.During the start of the second season Will Graham will have realized the truth about his serial killer psychologist, Dr. Hannibal Lecter, but it's far too late.
Season 2 will center on Will's arrest and the hardships that come along with it such as him going to trial for his alleged crimes. Now that Will has been given the gift of seeing the bigger picture he knows he has been used and he is ready challenge Hannibal. .*The show's creator, Bryan Fuller did an interview with TV Line saying, "I think the theme is a scrappy Will Graham coming out swinging. So we saw over the course of the first season him victimized in a very specific way and now we get to see what happens when he fights back and the lengths that Will Graham will go to not only defend himself but defend those around him and protect them."Dancy told TV Line, "I'm interested to see him muster what resources he can find from within a prison, essentially. I'm interested in seeing Will turn what powers he has in a more focused way towards that and perhaps be more calculated, more manipulative even, then we ever saw him in the first season.
