First impression: probably one of the best looking shows on television.

With that being said, great acting and excellent writing keep it from sacrificing substance for all its style. Dancy is particularly great, as you really get a feel for his neurotic character, but he has a good handle on Graham, and he doesn't overdue it with the neuroses(something his significant other seems to have difficulty with on Homeland).

Mikkelsen's Hannibal is proving very fascinating, as well. I haven't seem enough of him quite yet to make up my mind, but so far, it seems to be quite the departure from my preconceived notions of the character, as he trades in Hopkins' theatrical flare in favor of a colder, more analytical approach.

This is the best show on network tv. I love the atmosphere, mood, soundtrack, the way it's shot, acting and detail on everything in every shot.

^^^Correct. Here's the basic outline of how Fuller (writer) wants the series to go:

So you can see they've already had problems acquiring characters from SOTL. Not to mention the low ratings the first season got. I doubt this show will last 7 season let alone 2 if those numbers persist. Hopefully next season the numbers will jump up.

I hope the rating go up then. That outline sounds good.

It just makes me laugh when an awesome show like Hannibal has low ratings but we get like five new "hillbilly" themed shows every month.:lol More proof where society is headed. God forbid you have to actually watch a few episodes of a show and sit through some story-telling and character development.:horror:rotfl

Bring on Season 2! :yess:

TVLine reports that “X-Files” fav Gillian Anderson, will be back as Hannibal Lecter’s shrink in the first two episodes of Season 2. Eddie Izzard recently revealed his return. “Hannibal” will return in early 2014 with a 13-episode season that begins with Episode 2.01, “Kaiseki”.

I wonder is Hannibal has a his shrink for dinner...literallly?

BTW..Some nice hannibal tidbits here:

It wouldn't surprise me if NBC wanted the "meat" (sorry...) of the story to be told in the second season in case they decide not to renew, since it barely survived Season One's ratings. That said, we can't have Will locked up for the entire season as that would guarantee doom, so I'm guessing 3 or 4 episodes in Crawford learns the truth about Hannibal, is attacked but survives, and gets Will released to help bring Hannibal down. It could end Season 2 in a satisfying way, in case it doesn't return for a third season, but if it does return, then they can then get into the Red Dragon story and deal with Will coming to terms with Hannibal while still having to rely on him.

I'm excited, this series has really brought the Hannibal and Graham characters to life in a way that I now view Mikkelson as the superior Lecter over Hopkins' portrayal.

You can never count on The Master Plan in television. I would have loved to see this unfold as they intended. But reality being what it is, that trailer looks absolutely badass. Can't wait.
