I definitely agree. Her outfit should be done realistically. Im tired of the impossibly tight skinsuits that every female comic character has right now. Part of what makes Harley run well with Joker is that they both used to have the jester clown suit things going. It's classier and more interesting. If people just want curves go buy a Japanese castoff nude statue. Why pay 400 for generic curves?

No, I mean curves for their own sake.

You know, the thing that makes a comic different from a porn mag?

Oh, well I love curves on my statues, but I would not display a nude statue even though the curves are a killer. Not saying it's a bad thing since it is art. I just would not feel comfortable doing it. But I love sexy statues on display. Just not with everything hanging out there.

I think the issue is people complaining that cloth obscures the nude sculpt beneath.

I hope the material is good so we can all enjoy this for a change. Now the thing im still worried about is if something comes broken that they will not be willing to give a replacement part. That's my real concern now with all these new statues. It sucks because we should not even have to worry about brand new release statues.

I tend to feel that cloth, when done badly, can make a statue look cheap and nasty. Sabretooth PF instantly springs to mind. Saying that, the Joker was spot on and the cloth media really adds to the piece.

A more glossy look could make Harley look super sexy. Again, the X-23 comiquette pulled this off with great effect and is a stunning statue.

Totally agree. I'm not a fan of cloth in general (particularly for capes) but when done right it can look great. Joker looks awesome, so does Lara Croft, Nathan Drake is shaping up amazing, the cloth on the DRoM really elevates the statue to new heights and Harley's cloth seems nice so far.

I haven't seen anyone complaining about Batman and Superman's cloth so why her?

Tell that to Lara Croft :lecture

Pretty much. From what I can gather from this thread and many others (along with those customs that just strip the fabric and paint the body), people just want a naked female body statue with colored skin. They don't even want any kind of curves obscured by fabrics or anything. The point of mixed media is to add a layer of realism and that's fine when it comes to male figures, but all of a sudden if it makes even the most small details of their butt disappear then it's considered taboo for the female statues. It's silly. When you wear clothes it doesn't work that way and a costume as elaborate as Harley's sure as hell shouldn't work that way. Comic book artists could probably take a few lessons in that regard too as all they seem to do is erase the nipples and color the skin a different color and then call it a "bodysuit" as though that somehow makes it more modest.

Then people will call us out as collecting dolls :rotfl there's just no winning. Maybe charlie sheen can show us some winning?

Quoted for truth.

If SS can pull it off, then it could be good, I might just get two and have one in fabric, one repainted. I personally like seeing the curves on a female sculpt, mainly because alot of PF's have not impressed with with their clothing, especially on females (I did like Babydoll's). Male characters have better chances at having a better fabric costume, with the exception of tights.

I LOVE seeing you convert mixed media pieces into fully sculpted ones because I love fully sculpted pieces. They all look better to me after the conversion. I've seen the Wolvie, Black Cat, Cap, Thor, and Sabretooth PFs converted to fully sculpted pieces and thought they ALL looked better that way.

However, the newer mixed media pieces have blown me away. I'd have to say that Bucky Cap, Skaar, and Joker all look GREAT as mixed media pieces. I'm more than certain that I'll be adding Supes and Bats to that list when they are released. SSC has done an incredible job of choosing amazing fabrics that look fantastic on their current PFs. This is coming from a guy who has basically sworn off all mixed media statues because I hated the cloth on just about all of them. IMHO, SSC has come a loooong way when it comes to mixed media pieces. That all being said, I still get a HUGE kick out of seeing you convert mixed media into fully sculpted pieces. You have an incredible talent and I've yet to see anything you work on not impress the hell out of me. Keep up the great work Spazzy.
