After a bit of his own debate, Harmy is making a handful of very minor tweaks to V2.0 after discussion on originaltrilogy.com. Most of these tweaks the casual viewer will not even notice (I know I can't tell), but being the OCD bunch that we are, I figured this should be known before people get upset that V2.0 is going to V2.1. Harmy has said the changes are minor and there are not many to make and he will not make any more after this.

These changes stemmed after a lenthy discussion about the colors of the Luke meets Ben scene. It is this scene that viewers might notice a slight change. When complete, V2.1 will be uploaded as MKV and AVCHD and then he's moving on.

After viewing V2.0 I would agree about the Luke meets Ben scene. The backgrounds looked washed out and the color differed from the rest of the film. Other than that the film looked stunning.

Please sign me up for V2.1 when and if it becomes available.

Got my copy of ANH and watched maybe half an hour of it so far. Looks good. Certainly much better than the non-anamorphic DVD that I've been forced to watch up until now. So what's the story with ESB and ROJ?

ESB and ROTJ are coming, but it will be a bit. He's finishing work on SW V2.1 and adding in some extras for that one (a menu system, chapters, maybe an easter egg or 2) and then he will start on ESB.

As an aside, how pathetic is it that some guys on the internet were able to more or less recreate the theatrical versions of these movies in HD despite having no access to the original film, when it was supposedly too costly for Lucas himself to do so? I don't know if it says more about the dedication of Harmy and the people who worked with him, or the lack of concern that Lucas has for his fans.

Yes, there are versions of both already available. The versions coming will be fine-tuned like the 2.0 version of SW was.

The previous versions of ESB and ROTJ are definitely worth getting at least as a placeholder until the new ones. And those can be viewed on a Dual Layer DVD-R, I'd be happy to help out with those but I'd need to order more discs first.

No, they are quite good. As said above, they are worth the download until the new ones hit.

Yep, nothing majorly wrong. They are 720p, but honestly he did a really nice job with them so it doesn't feel like you are watching a sub-standard copy. Not to mention there are approrpriate color corrections, etc. that actually make them in many ways better looking than the officialy BR releases.

thanks to the HUGE magnanimity of jimjimmyjones... who is a GIANT of a man in my books... I may be taken off the list. FINALLY... the Star Wars that changed my life back in '77 is in my hands in all it's glory. no bloody episode number to ruin the crawl... no extraneous robots flying around... no stupid jawas riding dinosaurs... just plain Star Wars glory!!!!
