Glad to hear Part 1 won't be in 3D... I'm so sick of movies getting transferred to 3D in post production looking like crap.

Hopefully I can also catch Pt2 in 2D :rock

I could of sworn I heard John Williams was writing the music. I am very glad Desplat actually got to do it. :yess:

Really? I'm not a Desplat fan at all, and I'm somewhat disappointed with what little I heard from the soundtrack. I wasn't pleased when they announced he was scoring the film, but I figured he wouldn't stray far from what the previous soundtracks sounded like. I was wrong! But I won't judge it until I can listen to the full tracks.

Williams is scoring Part II.

And Hooper from the last couple of films is my favorite Potter composer thus far.

The thing is tell anybody to hum the Harry Potter tune and you can bet they will hum Williams version

Hopper didn't change the actual theme though. Williams came up with a great theme but the rest was just meh. Hopper and Doyle both continued the gist of the original theme just gave it variation.

I agree, Harry Potter is not one of Williams' better scores.

I heard on the radio coming home from work that in a lot of places, the tickets are sold out for the first day of release. Good luck to those wanting to see the first showing.

Yeah, from what I understand about 500 showtimes are sold out in advance on Fandango and that over 60% of Fandango's daily ticket sales are coming from the film.
