IMAX is the only real way to watch a movie. You do know IMAX is more then just a big screen right? Try PERFECT sound, and the best seat placement in the universe. You cant see texting lights, you cant hear anyone talking to you...and yes, the screen is nice and big. And clear.

IMAX >>>>>>>>> Any other way to watch a movie.

The best clip released yet, IMO. Haven't found a true HD version, so this will do for now!

I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan so there is a ton I don't understand but why if they are landing these hits on Malfoy etc, don't they just do the Avada Kedavra spell? Can they not do it or something? Is it only for Death Eaters or more powerful people, I don't get it.

I caught the end up HBP on HBO last night and it seemed when Snape had his back to Harry near the end, Harry had a pretty good chance to kill him instead of running up behind and screaming.

Murdering someone with the Avada Kedavra curse causes irreparable damage to the perpetrator's soul, splitting it apart - hence why Voldemort was able to split his soul into seven pieces and place them in different objects to keep him from dying. The only way in which it doesn't negatively effect the user is if they have permission to use it on someone, like assisted suicide.

It is also one of the three Unforgivable Curses. Uttering the incantation "Avada Kedavra" will get one sent straight to Azkaban for a life sentence. So, for most, the goal is not to kill, but to stun, capture, and turn in. In the case of the Malfoy Manor scene, the Malfoys were instructed to turn Harry Potter in alive so that Voldemort can kill Harry himself. Turning Harry Potter in alive would give the Malfoy family much-needed praise from Voldemort, who had in recent times been belittling them for their cowardice. That's why Draco and Narcissa didn't use the Avada Kedavra curse while battling Harry and Ron.

In the case of Harry and Snape in the Half-Blood Prince, Harry didn't want to have his soul split - that would be unforgivable. He doesn't want to be like Voldemort and Snape, but was so furious with Snape for betraying Dumbledore that he wanted to engage him in a battle. Quite foolishly, because Snape easily defeated Harry.

I don't think the killing curse splits your soul when you use it. You CAN split it like Voldemort did, but I never got the idea just using it would automatically split your soul.

I think thier was somthing involved with unicorn bllod that corrupted him but i forget what it was. Anyway this clip looks awesome but I heards its the one of the final scene's in the movie dont no if its true though.

Because they are not a bunch of murdering dicks. They also have to really mean it. It's very powerful. Take it from Moody:

"Avada Kedavra's a curse that needs a powerful bit of magic behind it - you could all get your wands out and point them at me and say the words, and I doubt I'd get so much as a nosebleed."

Correct. Look at Bellatrix when she murdered Sirius. She didn't split her soul. Voldemort did it because he wanted to and knew how by murdering someone, but it doesn't just happen by murder.

Thanks guys, so I take it as more or less Harry's just not powerful enough?

I wouldn't call Harry a ____ if he killed Voldemort, the guys going around murdering his friends and parents and trying to kill him.

Also we can say dicks but not ____? I can't say ____ Tracy but can say suck a bag of dicks?

No. It's that they are not murderers. You can't use the spell unless you have the desire to kill someone. You have to want to do it.

When Snape kills Dumbledore he had agreed to do it with Dumbledore so he was able to do it even if he didn't have the desire to kill him and he knew DD only had so long to live anyway.

Ok but theoretically if he wanted to, is Harry powerful enough to use the spell or do we just not know.

I thought he was supposed to be the most powerful wizard ever?

Like I said, Im not a huge fan, I watch the movies when they come on HBO so bare with me.

No problem.

No, Harry is not even close to the most powerful Wizard ever. It's all explained in the books WHY he lived when Voldemort tried to kill him ( and even in the 4th movie ) and WHY they "share" so many things.

I don't wanna blow the whole thing here for those who never read the books and just follow by watching the movies.

I dunno, I'm pretty sure...

...that when Snape told Dumbledore that he didn't want to kill him for the damage it would cause to his own soul, Dumbledore explained that since he wanted Snape to kill him, it wouldn't damage his soul as it did Voldemort and others.

Can someone verify? I can't be 100% sure on this, but I think that's how it went down.

Pffft. When HBP came out, my local theater did a 1-6 viewing. 5-7.1 doesn't seem as impressive compaired to that. Still a cool idea though. I can't wait to see when pt 2 comes out if there will be any 1-7.2 showings. Now that would be intense and put the LotR 1-3 to shame.

Killing someone doesn't automatically split your soul, but I refuse to believe it doesn't take a little piece of you with it. Harry wouldn't kill Snape for the same reason Luke wouldn't kill Vader (No, Snape isn't Harry's father. :lol) it's wrong.

Personally, I think Harry has enough rage he could pull off Avada Kedavra.

Has anyone else heard about the nude scene in this? I can think of things I'd rather see than a Harry's nude potter. :horror
