The scalpers and flippers at SDCC are such an utter nuisance! If they were out of the way, the show might be a completely different experience. And I wouldn't have to open WTB threads to get that one or two items I desire. Imagine if everyone who bought the exclusives actually wanted them. Nice.

Would be a much nicer place.

Anyone buy today's ript shirt?

Considering the MSRP is set, and they release exclusives at the SDCC and then the aftermarket explodes on them, how is that in any way thanking the hardcore collector who has spent pockets of money for their items??? Why not make these item available to the collectors who have the entire run and would now be missing that 1-2 ex....instead of letting some parasite flipper screw your hardcore customer... Where's the logic in this.....:(

Thought this would be the right place to ask this, but has anybody bought one of these monster books? Are they any good? Whats the quality like?

We're thinking about it. We've got a few things on our list we're picking off one at a time...

Wish I had picked up the Lupin and McGonnegall busts when they were sitting unwanted on Ebay for $30 some time back.

You're not alone buddy. I wish I had grabbed so many things a while back. I also wish we hadn't gotten into collecting Potter stuff so late. Don't get me wrong, I love that I collected Buffy as I have a lot of great things, but to have started a while back, would have been much easier. If I see anything priced cheaply I will always post it here. So people should keep a watch out. I've been able to help a few boardies score some great items at great prices.
And if anyone wants to place their list beneath, so I know what to keep my eye on, and prices they're roughly looking at, that would help a lot!

Apparently It's a 8 inches by something or other sized box, which is made out of plastic and has fake fur on the top. You can lock it and It can only be opened by a set amount of stroking down it's spine which If you don't get right has the thing growling at you. :lol

On UK ebay it retails for about £25.

What company makes it?
What's the price?
Is it a replica or just a stuffed animal/pillow?

It's a keepsake box. Mostly meant for the kiddies. But it's neat. I also like the one from the Wizarding world. Much cheaper. Though, it's not a keepsake. But that's okay with me.

Last night we got in Tales of Beedle the Bard, Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Can't wait to read them.

Here's one of the 'real deals' so to speak that I thought some on here might like to see. It's not one of the hero rigged up versions, but one of the bucket load of background ones that were created for the kids to carry in the group scenes. The hair on the close up ones were a lot nicer too and apart from the mechanisms that made the eyes and mouth move they had lovely glass eyes too.

And here's a photo that I took of my friends son with the full sized mechanical hippogriff in the offices of Nick Dudman head of the Potter creature shop.
