Harry Potter discussion thread- SPOILERS through book 6

True...but why? The darkness that took over that family will be lifted once You-Know-Who and company are defeated and things get sorted out. The Weasley's will bring life back into it. (yeah...I know it sounds too much like a happily ever after ending, but there's GOT to be some glimmer of hope that JKR will throw in to show that things will be looking brighter despite the deaths and destruction that's surely to come in the final book?)

I'm hoping for quite a few deaths and TONS of destruction. It's the last book, so I hope Rowling goes out with a bang. Less than 3 weeks to go !!!!:chew :chew

Now Sideshow, where's the Potter line ?????

That's cool! I think if I'm going to buy them all over again though, I'd want the British versions. Hopefully the UK publisher will do something similar.

I am playing catch up reading the books, and I hope to have book six finished before the last one comes out, but that box set sure is tempting. I just wish they had the collector editions available as a set as well. I'd prefer to get the best possible collector set, so I may wait on this for a little bit.

I just finished listening to book 6 again. On the subject of Horcruxes, here is what I understand.

-Soul into seven piece, thus only 6 Horcruxes (Voldemort with 7th piece)
- Harry was likely going to be the death for the last Horcruxe, which means only 5 of them likely exist or Harry('s scar) is indeed the last one
- Really should only one unknown Horcruxe

X1) Diary
X2) Ring
?X3) Locket (RAB said he was going to destroy it, maybe he did)
4) Hufflepuff Cup
5) ? (Dumbledore thought Nagina the Snake or a Ravenclaw/Gyfindor item)
6) Harry or none (or possible other)

And After a second time through, I do think Snape is a good guy.

Now to just watch 1-5 again (and for the first time) to be refreshed with those parts in time for the finale.

Covers usually give a little bit away from the book. I find it odd that in the UK edition, they are surrounded by a bunch of gold..odd

Ditto here. Am about half-way thru book #5....plan to finish it before next Wed. Dunno if I'm gonna have time to see the first 4 films beforehand though. Had planned to be finished with #6 before #7 hits my house. Time's run out.

Doing the exact same thing. Just finished HBP a few days ago and now I'm trying to find time to watch 1-4, and then 5 on Saturday. I figure the films are good enough of a refresher as long as I read 6.
