Has anyone ever tried to raise a Detolf?

anyone try using a Mosjo from IKEA. I was thinking of putting 2 detolfs on top of it. Website says the max load is 99 pounds but I'm 200 pounds and was standing on it and it felt fine

I've got two detolfs on top of one of those. I took the central shelf out, cut it in half and used it to support the center of the unit. Giving me two boxes for HT shipper storage and it gives the center a much more solid feeling.

Is this the leading contender for a 2 detolf raising? I know for a one detolf it appears that the Ikea kitchen cabinet is used, for a 3-4 there are a variety of options (although still not sure which one is the best fit to raising ratio).

Here's my detolfs on kallax. Ikea my place ran out of bestas.

Is it stable enough in the long run you think?

Is there anything that would fit two detolfs well? I'm noticing most of the suggestions are long enough to fit three - wondering if there's anything shorter length-wise.

Also, are you guys anchoring your detolfs to the wall, or...?

If you're raising a Detolf I can't stress enough how important it is to attach it to the base AND the wall. I don't care if you don't have pets nor kids - fasten the top of the cabinet to the wall behind it.

I'd use one along the front. Also, 27" height is just about perfect, but they don't make a cabinet where this is easy to achieve. A 24" cabinet with 3" legs would be ideal, but as it stands, I've used 30" tall cabinets and cut 3" off instead. The process: take 3" off the sides, then make new holes for the attachment pegs about 4" up from the bottom which is where the bottom panel will sit. I also cut a notch in the side panels to create a toe-kick area under the bottom panel. A 24" tall door then perfectly covers the front of the cabinet opening and the bottom toe kick can be covered with a plinth or any thin piece of wood painted to match the cabinet or darker. I then covered the sides of the cabinet with cut-down Nexus panels just like you would finish an end-run of cabinets in a kitchen.

So I finally got around to getting my recently bought detolfs wired and now raised. I ended going with a Kallax with doors. Sorry for the bad angle, not enough room in front to get the whole thing in.

Looks good, and you seem to have enough space that you could even have used the 2x4 Kallax - recommended wholeheartedly if anyone else if thinking about this route.

i just used furniture legs and screwed them on. the amount raised is enough for me. also matches with the besta legs. pic is wip. need to fill the stuff obv.

They look good, but this thread is geared toward putting the cabinets closer to display height, usually onto another piece of furniture, so that when we stand in front of them we're not looking over the top. You'll notice the main concern throughout the thread is usually whether or not a particular piece is strong and/or stable enough to support one or more Detolf cabinets.

I'm sure there's an explanation for every one of the failures and I'm equally sure it wasn't from people setting other shelving like a Detolf on top. Kallax and Expedit are plenty strong for this kind of setup if the mass is well distributed and everything it properly assembled and fastened.

Yes it is. I replaced one detolf with a Besta for the bigger stuff like PFs and 1:1 helmets. As I only collect the 212th from SW, I should be fine space wise. Besta is bigger, so I gained space. But I like to have just one unit per shelf to have a clean display. Not sure how I'm gonna achieve that with 12 1:6er for 8 Detolf shelves.
