Just wondering its been a year since Hot Toys preorder of a 1/4 figs with no new announcements and Enterbay said a bunch of stuff about they're new 1/4 fig releases but we haven't seen anything they seem to be stuck on 1/6 Jordans as HT is stuck on 1/6 Iron Man? Have those like me who collect 1/4 figs been left in the dirt??

What are you expecting to see?

Enterbay has been slow and consistent with their 1/4 launches.

Other than Batman/Joker coming out as a pair its generally a while between each release. We had 1/4 Burce Lee 6 months ago, BD Terminator a few months ago ....we've seen multiple preview images of the 1/4 Robocop so we know its coming sooner or later....
...and some very basic teaser movie pics saying they're doing 1/4 Rocky....

The Jordan line seems to be all consuming for Enterbay at the moment and has probably taken them a bit by surprise at just how crazy people have gone ....apparently Mr Lee is no longer the 1/6 equivalent king....

Its likely we will not see fast releases on 1/4 scale stuff like on 1/6. Mainly because there is alot of new development needed for each piece unlike the already casted molds both companys have for there sixth scale bodys, each figure there releasing needs a bunch of R&D. That would be my guess anyway:dunno

I don't think it sold the way they thought it would.

First T800 by EB is sold out. Their Joker's sold out. More and more people are getting the EB Batman for its awesome likeness. BD T800 will have its 3rd (or could it be 4th?) batch shipped this August.

HT's QS002 Endo is now sold out, both EX and regular. QS001 Batman, in spite of the backlash it's getting, has already sold out the EX.

Well, maybe Rambo and Bruce Lee are still available, but so far majority of the high-end 1/4 scale figures dished out by both EB and HT have sold out. Regardless of how many were made, sold out means it has met if not exceeded the sales target of the manufacturer.

Teasers have already been shown. There's going to be more. We just have to wait til they realize that they have other commitments other than Michael Jordan and Iron Man. Save your $$$ for now :)

Do we know the edition sizes of these? If not, them being sold out may be irrelevant. If the edition size isn't worth the tooling, then their being "sold out" may mean nothing.

Irrelevant how? May mean nothing how? I think it is relevant and means something, regardless of the edition size.

Like I said, I think regardless of how many were made, sold out means it has met if not exceeded the sales target of the manufacturer. And these manufacturers as well as their distributors of course, know which franchise would sell more, and would produce more of these hot-sellers. While selling out would have to be the ultimate goal, I'm sure they have a more realistic sales quota. This is similar to the DX08 Nicholson Joker, that's still around. It's not sold out, but does that mean it didn't sell well? If so, why did HT come up with DX14 based on a less anticipated version of Nicholson Joker if it only meant another poor-selling figure?

It's possible that HT produced more of DX08 than other figures, for some reasons, that's why it still hasn't sold out. But who's to say that HT didn't meet or even exceeded their sales target for it?

I think, at this day and age of collecting where "limited edition" is not as limited as before, what's irrelevant is the edition size. What matters is if the manufacturers would break even, sell as much or more than their target, or sell out. :duff

I am on wait list for Quarter Scale Batman Hot Toys, so what do you mean by the backlash the figure is getting? What is the problem with this figure?

HT/Enterbay haven't abandoned 1/4 figures, they just aren't the mainstay of their lines and will be sparsely announced and released.

The price goes up with 1/4 figures and HT would probably lose out on sales if they went with more 1/4 figures. 1/6 figures are also more popular in general and it makes sense to keep releasing those.

I look at the 1/4 line as a "Ultimate Figure" type release, like a Super DX line or something. HT might release 1-2 1/4 figures a year, and they will most likely be iconic characters. But until 1/4 scale figures become more popular than 1/6 scale, don't expect a lot of 1/4 figures from HT (Enterbay might do more since they have been).

These are still coming from EB for sure. HT, I'm not so confident they're going to invest in that line at this point. Hot Toys is risk averse. They focus on sure things nowadays, and don't really take risks. Production costs for 1/4 scale figures are likely high, they will probably cost something on the order of $500+ for many releases, and as such, and it's an unknown, whereas they know that they can sell out of all kinds of 1/6 scale Iron Men and Jokers at $300 a piece. EB is willing to take more of a gamble out of necessity (because they aren't in HT's position) so I think they'll be more willing to invest in the 1/4 scale lines. And maybe this can be a nice niche for EB from here on, particularly if HT steps away, assuming they can shore up some of their serious QC issues.

I hope they did. 1/4 sucks.

Why no love for 1/4 scale figures? I've noticed a lot of hate towards 1/4 scale stuff on these boards. Why is this?

Whilst I don't have any 1/4 scale figures apart from the 1/4 endo which I have on pre-order, I personally think they are awesome and look so much more realistic than the 1/6 stuff, so I'm all for Hot Toys bringing out 1/4 scale figures.

Sure, they take up more room, but this doesn't bother me. I'd rather have a small handful of iconic movie characters in glorious 1/4 scale, then a bunch of 1/6 figures, as I'm after the most realistic representation of my favourite characters.

I just think the 1/4 scale figures bring a level of museum-like quality that can't be achieved at 1/6 scale, IMO. When I look at figures like Enterbay's BD T800 and Batman, they don't look like toys, they look like something you'd see on display at a museum.

I am pretty sure they overestimated the demand for 1:4 figures. There are a few people here who are rabidly for it, but I bet the majority of their target consumers aren't interested.

i hope they haven't as it hard to find 1/4 scale accessories especially as i collected 1/4 scale premium format which need a little touching up weapon with accessories
