I think they all look prety darn good! Maul may be the weakest of them, hard to really tell though, will need to see more pics or have in hand before deciding but R2 and the Sandtrooper are amazing!
Soft goods? I was skipping Maul anyways but I expect Old Ben and Leia ANH to suffer the same fate.
R2 looks awesome. I can't believe they included all of the accessories! How wonderful is that? The doors look wrong but hopefully that's fixed for production. And the Sandtrooper isn't just a Stormie with a pauldron. Screen accurate armor! I called it. They went with him first to show they're gonna go above and beyond with detail and not cut corners. And he comes with three guns? Delightful! I am so happy they went with the orange pauldron. I'm not army building any figure and honestly that's the only color I'd care to have. I hope there's not variants mixed in the case. Orange is likely to be the most popular with everyone.
Soft goods kill it for me. It doesn't look right in a smaller scale. Especially when half his skirt is plastic and the other is cloth. What?! I hated that shift in the 3 3/4" line right before I finally called it quits.
The blades look to short to me actually. The hilt might seem to big since it's in the foreground? Forced perspective? What's with the head/robe/upper sleeves? He swaps out to that look? Glad the OT figures look as great as they do. Hope they keep the quality on these as high as those look!
But I agree, that is a better shot than the showroom pics.
R2 & the Sandie are *EXCELLENT*. You look at this Sandtrooper, & compare it to what SSC are doing in 1/6 scale.. oh man. Once again, it seems Hasbro have to show them how the characters REALLY look. That said, I hope they make Bossk as well.
I like the packaging on the 3.75" Black Series figures, as well. I haven't been this interested in a Hasbro line since TVC, though that didn't go so well.
It's the jumbo lightsaber and headsculpt that kills it. The rest of the figure is pretty good.
I still don't know why Hasbro can't make a decent Maul saber. It's literally just two regular lightsabers joined together, but they always make the handle really long and the blades really short. Did they not see TPM? Plus, this one looks alot thicker. Not a good start to the 6" PT.
