Re: Hasbro legends 6" sw figures
The heads obviously not pushed down far enough...
The heads obviously not pushed down far enough...
I hate being spoiled, I have Kylo Ren and Stormtroopers, but I really want a Captain Phasma the most and it's the one I can't have/find
Not sure where you are located, but in the US I think the only place Captain Phasma has shown up is Meijers. Wave 2 made it to the Meijers chain of stores, but I haven't heard of it being anywhere else. That may not be true of course, but that's what I've heard when looking for information on Black Series Captain Phasma. The closest Meijers to me is about 40 or 50 minutes away. I tried calling there but I was on hold forever and gave up. I doubt they have any left now unless they got another shipment in.
Wow. This is all wrong.
Those are $85 on BBTS, Black Series are $20.
"Bandai can offer so much more for a tiny but more money"
It is not tiny, it is a $65 difference, of course those are going to be better.
Would be nice for you to use some reasoning here.
I like how you start out with vague statistics to try to make everything equal before devolving into "Hasblo" and "crap" and the old stand-by "_________ has no excuse." Good internetting!
Japanese customers do not buy figuarts from BBTS. I was not talking about importing, but costs in a local market (Japan Vs US).
To avoid a complicated lesson in economics, I'll explain it as simply as possible: To a Japanese consumer, $20 US is worth approximately ¥3700 in purchasing power (this is NOT CURRENCY CONVERSION but PPP Purchasing Power Parity). These are not vague statistics, but an actual economics calculation which I will let you learn how to do on your own (Search for PPP).
The average cost of a Figuarts figure in a Japanese Hobby Shop is ¥4500, so it would be around $5 US more that what you would pay for a Black Series 6 incher at Target or Wal-Mart in the US when EQUALIZING PURCHASING POWER BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES. So what that means is a Japanese customer is only paying a bit more for for a figuarts figure than we would pay for a BS figure here in North America. 5 bucks is not much more money to pay for such a huge leap in quality over Hasblow. Anyway, my point was that Black Series 6" figures are definitely not worth $20 when compared to the quality and value you get from Figuarts ignoring import costs.
You are still wrong. A 6" Black Series is 2620jpy compared to 4500jpy for a Figuarts according to AmiAmi....
it would a $15.57 difference, not $5. Even then most of the figuarts are listed at 4730jpy, so it is probably closer to a $20 difference
In Japan it is basically two black series to one figuart.
Some economic theory does change the fact the these are the prices and the exchange rate is .0083
Once again NOT EXCHANGE RATE but the difference in PURCHASING POWER between US and Japan.
So if I buy a black series figure from AmiAmi I will be charged 3700jpy instead if the listed 2620jpy?
Once again NOT EXCHANGE RATE but the difference in PURCHASING POWER between US and Japan.
Using your figures, ¥2620 is approximately $13US in purchasing power. Now if Black Series figures were around $13 with tax, then they would be more aligned with their product quality in terms of cost here in NA. $20 for a BS 6" is way overvalued and price gouging as far as I'm concerned. Hasbro can get away with this since they have the monopoly on Star Wars figures and is why they fight so hard to keep competitors like figuarts out.
No because you are not Japanese, living in Japan, earning a Japanese paycheck. You are an American, living in America, getting ripped off by an American corporation.
Saying $20 for a 6" figure is "price gouging" pretty much discredits anything you say from here on out.
$20 for any HASBRO star wars action figure is price gouging - yes.
Got the disney elite Kylo Ren today. Went for a pair of stormtroopers but they are the rarest to get. Plenty of Flame troopers, Kylos, Phasma and Finn. Im only going for the villains as the designs are better. Here he is. More poseable than I thought;
More articulate than Phasma. Torso rotates but also the legs move out the sides as oppose to forward and back. Looking forward to snapping the rest up. I hope they do a 2nd wave.
Ugh that cross saber blade having no jagged edges is so disappointing it looks so toyish, was Disney referencing an older prototype of cross saber with this?
When the 3.75" Kylo saber is better than the 6" Kylo saber, something is wrong and changes need to be made.
When this line was announced, it was announced as a collector's line - high end, larger scale, FOR COLLECTORS.
Now?
Now they look like they are being designed by children - for children.
I really want to meet the people who approve and support the nonsense decisions that are made for this line.
I want to meet them and hear them justify what they have turned this line into.
Don't get me wrong, a scaled TFA Tie Fighter is damn sweet and I LOVE the idea of vehicles for these figures, but they're going to be expensive. I can't see spending the money on the vehicles while at the same time being disappointed in the figures.
Oh well, what do I know?
Captain Phasma get, thanks for the heads up...Series 2 is available right now on Amazon. Go!
