Looks to be the same exact figure to me, but I havent opened him up yet. Mine has the darker red eyes, not sure if both variations exist in the new packaging.

Picked up a Jedi Master Luke Black Series figure, and ordered the Disney Elite Series Praetorian Guard. I was looking for the one from The Black Series too but didn't see it anywhere. I take it it hasn't been officially released yet, despite being all over eBay?

Praetorian Guard comes in multiple flavors:

Dome Helmet: TLJ Black Series Wave 2. Only a small number of stores had this wave. Hasn't hit wide release yet.

Mushroom Helmet: GameStop Exclusive 4 pack with Senate, Royal, and Shadow guards. Available for pre-order.

Beaky Helmet: Amazon Exclusive with heavy blade. Available for pre-order.

Ugh! I noticed 2 of my Targets reporting the Executioner for in store pick-up, so I pulled the trigger. Kinda hoping it's a mistake. Probably is.

I dunno, TFA was great, when it was in theaters. I was in full hype (same as I was during the PT), but after the fact (like the PT), the veil was lifted and I realized I didn't really like it. Whenever a SW movie came on tv, even TPM, I'd put it on, but when TFA was rampant on Starz, I never put it on once. I don't even think I've watched the BD since I bought it. R1 being amazing just solidified my feelings, as now I know what a GREAT modern Star Wars movie can be. This has left me ambivalent towards TLJ and the ST in general. Other than Luke and Kylo, I just don't care.

What the hell am I going on about?! ANYWAY! I'm kinda hoping that TLJ surprises me and If Phasma is running around with a few of these guys trying to kill off Finn, I'm gonna need a couple.

My wife is a Star Wars fan so she's been letting buy all the black series figures I want. Normally when I go into stores and head to the toy aisle she always gives me a look like "more toys?" So far I spent almost $200 on Star Wars stuff and for the first time I'm wondering if it's too much. Especially since there are a few Hot Toys I want to get. Thinking about returning a bs storm trooper. I already have two from the first release.

Yes. The eyes are a bit darker than the 40th. But THE BEST part is that the dome sits lower on the face making it much more menacing and true to ANH. The gunmetal paintjob on the helmet is more obvious now and looks great. The cape seems to have been adjusted a bit as well. NOW it is the best Vader figure to date

Not all 40th Vaders had that bright red tint. It was a crapshoot on how bright or dark the eyes would be. So the same could be happening with this release.

Thanks for the info. I preordered the Amazon.com one. Don't know if I want to spend the money on the four pack from GameStop (even though it looks cool). I'm still on the look out for the regular dome helmet version.

The way the dome sits on Vader's mask varied with the 40th release too IIRC. I remember seeing some where the dome was higher (or lower) than others.

I was originally gonna stick with Figuarts but I caught the bug and had to pick up the new Kylo and Rey. I actually really like them, even if the knees are a bit weird and Kylo's lower legs seem skinny. I also didn't like the plastic for Rey's tunic so I replaced it with soft goods.

No worries.

Barnes and Noble has the 4 pack for pre-order for $10 less. GameStop now has the wave 2 dome guard for pre-order.

You could always sell the figures you don't want from the 4 pack. I wanted a couple of Riot Troopers from the Target 2 pack and didn't need a clone army of Poes so I sold a couple of them for a decent amount.

Boy that was a pathetic selection for FF. I saw half of the product displayed from last FF. I didn't even see that much Legos at Target compared to last year .

Hey Disney just make FF online only for EP IX or the Han Solo film

Feel sorry for those that waited hours before midnight on Fri just for stores to have such a puny collection

i love when collectors know how to pose figures we'll. If I see one more stiffed kneed "action" pose with a blaster held at a 90 degree angle I'm gonna blow my brains out. Very nice, Ryan.

I'm catching the bug myself. Every time I go into another store (been collecting the Find The Force chips) I end up leaving with something I said I wouldn't buy. Normal, back in the day, I'd break $500 on SW release, I'm only at $100 or so and all I need is Thrawn.

Yes I like the Vadery texture of Kylo's tunic as well. He looks very medieval, which I like too. Hmmmm BS or SHF....

Just got back from Walmart. They had one left of the new Vader so I bought it. This thing is awesome!
