I repainted the Thrawn figure last night. Amazing what kind of detail a paint job can bring out.
Warning: large pics

Great work. Since I am considering purchasing one and repainting him to more closely match his neutral Rebels facial expression, I'm sure you can answer this for me: Are his eyebrow sculpts underneath the original paint aggressively angles or will it work to repaint his expression into neutral without resculpting?

His right eyebrow is quite angled, his left eyebrow was barely even there sculpt-wise. You can easily sand them down though. Hiis forehead has a big frown though that might be harder to deal with.

I did a couple more repaints this weekend:

Yeah it was for you. It was a film reference for you to give me your home address so I can send you my figures and have you repaint them. :lol

I'd like to see what you could do with Luke and Han. The eye work for Lando and Thrawn in particular is amazing. I've tried painting eyes on 1:12 figures and my hand just isn't steady enough.

Thanks a lot, man! Yeah, the eyes can be a real paint. I always start with them so it's easier to fix if I screw up lol

Wow, those repaints are amazing! These figures would be so amazing if only Hasbro took more time and effort. Keep up the good work!

It really is amazing how good those sculpts are and that they are just ruined by the factory paint. You'd think when they started this 'black label' series they would have tired at little harder to improve the paint. If they came looking like those repaints, I think people would pay around $30 for them for that quality. The factory work isn't even laughable, its just downright sad when you can see the potential behind it.

I just got my Orson Krenic in the mail yesterday and I had thought I lucked out on getting great paint apps until I saw your repaint. Fantastic job there Mmurrer!

After missing out on Thrawn in the stores, I checked Amazon yesterday before heading out to look for him, and found that he was available there for retail! I got my order in before he sold out, now I'm just hoping I get decent paint apps on him as well. I also blindly ordered an Alien: Lambert on the web and got one with great paint, so here's hoping I'm 3 for 3 with Thrawn.
Then It's time to save up and hope I get great paint on a Prometheus Lost wave order, I've only seen two figures from the wave on pegs, both with terrible paint apps.

Wave 1 pilot Luke was actually pretty good and the Sandtrooper with the grime looked like a legit high end figure. After that though, they just stopped caring.

Those blue boxed figures from a few years ago were painted so poorly. I saw so many Han and Luke Stormtrooper figures with poorly painted eyes, mouths and Stormtrooper helmets.

Stuff like this should be caught in the production run and either be fixed or scrapped before it's sent out to stores and shows.

Thanks for all the feedback! =)
What really irks me with this line is that the eyes are decals/tampos. They're not hand painted. And from all the figures I've seen, they seem to use the same decals for most, with very little variation (eg., color). That's why, even when you do get a figure with a "good" "paint job", the eyes *never* match the sculpt of the eye sockets. 99% of the time they're just too big. If they're doing decals, they could at least create better ones for very little extra cost. We'll see how they're gonna look like with the new tech, but considering the Marvel Legends figures I've seen that passed the QC, I'm only *very cautiously* optimistic.

Not 6", but I found a few TLJ 3.75" BS figures at my local Walmart. They had the Praetorian Guard, Executioner Trooper, Rose, and Luke.

Every one get in their order for the Hascon Rex? Went up just after 10am (eastern) and gone by around 10:40am. Been checking all morning. Just happened to be checking at that time. I finally got an order in for something!! :yess: Rex is my son's favorite character so wanted to make sure I got an exclusive, even if he gets released later on in standard packaging. Only a $5 difference, so why not.

So sad I missed out on Rex.. I tried at 8am pst, no dice.

I know theres going to be a standard release too, but I think I read somewhere that it wont have all the same weapons. Really hoping tgats not true.
