I'm thinking it'd be really cool to get Jeremy Bulloch to sign the card for the new VC Rocket Firing Fett. Did they say whether or not they'd be shipped out before August 15th?

Very, very doubtful you'd get them by then. They usually take a couple of months to fulfill mailaways. And you need to find the initial wave of figures before you can even send off for it. But it's also not like Bulloch is hard to find. He's pretty much at every single Con on the East Coast these days.

I'll tell you guys, the new Cloud Car is in my possession and it's freaking amazing. Luke is great, and the CCP isn't all that bad either.

But Irish.. if your friend wants to get rid of that Jabba, I'm always buying! :lol
Ah, so you're one of those who has to have the Hasbro stuff NOW... and will pay extra to do so? Why?

Yeah, he seems to come to Star Wars Weekends quite a bit.

just pick up some saga legends repack from TRU over the weekend. They are still buy one at full price and the 2nd for 50% off...

The new Threepio on vintage card is a bit of a let down, same with General Veers but, i will be getting them all(just doubles of Bespin Luke and Hoth Leia) i think, minus vader.

Saw this pic over at Scum though, it looks good with a weathered wash and maybe repaint the eyes.

Lack of availablity in my area is one factor. The other is that the Jabba set is something I have wanted for AGES. Ever since I got the old vintage Jabba I wanted one to go with the current Hasbro range. Is this one perfect? Nope, not at all. But it is a really awesome set anyway.

If you have even been to Target or Walmart in the last 6 months they hardly stock anything Star Wars at all anymore save for a few assortments of Clone Wars crap warming the pegs. I haven't seen a drought of Hasbro Star Wars like it since the Great Drought from 1985-1995. I pretty much do all of my shopping online now so I consider any additional expense a small price to pay for gas and time to hunt them down is worth it. I'll be buying a case of these. Click and I'm done.

I don't collect 'em anymore (except for the occasional Sith), but I gotta say the figures are getting better and better, and still oogle over them when out shopping.

You know what is partly to blame for that? The diehards and their incessant clamoring for Yarna (fat Jabba dancer lady) and Ice Cream Maker Guy, both of which clog store pegs to this day. I'm serious.

If there were ever figures that should have been $20 Convention Exclusives in extremely limited numbers it is those two lame duds.

It also seems like die hards are the only ones really buying when there isn't a new movie. While CW sustains things now, when it was just the prequels, my local stores would be awesome for about 6 months, about 2 before release and 3-4 after, but then for the long gaps in between they'd be terrible, rarely putting up fresh stuff. Hasbro keeps making it so I assume it sells to their satisfaction and stores keep buying it, but it almost seems like Hasbro turns out more than there's demand for.

I disagree. I'd be pissed if the only way to get Wilrow Hood was as an overpriced and ultra-limited con exclusive that scalpers on the secondary market would rape our wallets for. The problem has always been Hasbro not getting the assortment breakdown right. They knew, admiteddly even, that Yarna was likely to be a pegwarmer when asked about her in all the Q&A's and yet they still overproduced her and kept shipping her out just like they did with Mutt Williams and Bazooka Indy and killed the Indy line. Hasbro just doesn't get it as much as they repeatedly tell us they understand distribution of male action figures better than anybody. At least they aren't nearly as bad as Mattel.

The point is that Yarna and Wilrow should never have been produced in the mass quantities necessary for retail stores. That kind of demand for those characters was not there, with or without Hasbro's crappy assortment breakdowns and distribution. Even if they produced 1/5 of the amount they did there would have been overflow.

Yarna and Wilrow should have been Battle Pack candidates. A Jabba's Dancers BP with Oola and Escape From Bespin BP with Lando, Leia and Chewie.

Let's face it, characters like Yarna and Willrow are just as deserving of a figure as characters like, say, podracer pilots, or bounty hunters. Arguably, both Yarna and Willrow moved around more than just about every bounty hunter we ever encountered in the Star Wars movies, save for maybe Zam running from Obi-Wan and Anakin, and Boba's rocketing into the side of Jabba's sail barge. I think Hasbro just needs to be more careful when releasing characters like Yarna and Willrow. And honestly, there are a lot less Willrows around than there were Yarnas. Hasbro is getting better at this. :)

Who cares how much they "moved" onscreen. It's an ugly fat chick and a chubby dude in plain clothes with an ice cream maker. They personify BORING.

Wilrow is cool. Everytime I see him running by I yell "Ice Cream!" like Barry in Close Encounters.
