Haaaaaaas-broooooooooooooooo!!!!

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

Just a few main problems with this line, most which have been pointed out by other folks...

Poor distribution and availability I still remember the pegs and shelves up here being virtually EMPTY the week the movie opened. No product for those post-screening impulse shoppers to grab up. No role-playing toys (the soft whip, the hat-n-whip set) for the young kids...NOTHING.

Bad case assortments Like Star Wars, the Indy line featured case assortments with just a few new figures and filled up with mostly figures from prior waves. Packing in multiple Indys was understandable, he's the lead....but the cases should have featured more new characters as they were released, not less.

Poor character choices This one is debatable to be sure, for everyone who expected to see a Toht or Mechanic, there may be someone who really liked the Monkey Man or Ciaro Swordsman. But the emphasis early on should have been the more iconic-looking or more familiar characters because of their big scenes(can anyone not think of ROTA without remembering that melting face or that incredible fight under the Flying Wing?) such as Toht or the Mechanic.
Granted, it's tough considering these are no exotic, alien characters ala SW, but it's just bad luck that we've been teased with images of some figures we'll never see now that the line is dead.

I also hope that if that last ROTA wave has actually made it into production that Hasbro finds a retail partner (online or B&M) that would be willing to carry them.

I've enjoyed this line immensely...I never thought a major toy line based on this property would see the light of day, so I at least want to thank Hasbro for what we've gotten...

Long live Indiana Jones!

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

KOTC sucked, too many lame KOTC figures front loading the shelves and the main buyers are adults not kids for Indy. Lucas and Spielberg made the mistake of trying to make KOTC for "new" audiences when really it was and should have been made for the "fans". Blame Lucas and Spielberg, and now hopefully Indy will R.I.P. - it is a sad day, I really wanted a new wave of Raiders figures.

Maybe after Lucas screws up Clone Wars, those figures will be gone as well. He did a great job at it so far, making a horrible crpafest cgi film.

Just watched the Gofather I and II at the dome in LA, Coppola needs to grab a hold of Spielberg and Lucas and make them watch his films again. After the films ended I walked over to look at what was playing and saw "House Bunny" on the marquee - that says it all.

Bring on Hasbro's The Godfather - "The Corleone Collection" wave.

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

Heed this, Sideshow. Because I can actually see the SW 12" line ending before we ever get Chewie or the droids. But, damn... at least we'll have Commander Praji, Endor Rebels and Captain Antilles. Woo-hoo!

You speak truth, friend. You speak truth.

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

This stinks. The Raiders wave with Toht was my favorite. :( Still wish they'd release them as an exclusive gift box set or something.

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

I'm far more pissed about the cancelled Mighty Muggs. I was a completist with those, not so much with the 3.75".

Doesnt Hasbro release new figures whenever a new movie comes out? In those Wal-Mart gift packs?

I think the Indy movies are getting another release....a 4 pack. That should be Hasbro's chance to strike.

Raiders: Toht, Indy, and Marion(white dress plz!)
Temple: Indy, Mola (although i'd probably be Willy) and Short Round.
Crusade: Henry, Indy, and Elsa

thats perfect for Hasbro! I'd buy them all.

I'm with you on this. I'm kind of surprised the Mighty Muggs are being cancelled. They are an easy retool and seem to be fairly well received by collectors. I wished Hasbro would just release what they've announced.

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

The case assortments weren't the best. But with that said, a lot of peg warmers in this line. I am not shocked, but it is a bit sad

But, yay! We got a Cairo Swordsman Mighty Mugg instead of Henry, Sr!! :banana

(Again, Sideshow, are you paying attention??)
