That isn't Hasbro's fault.

No, but it is what it is. The reason the Jumbo GG figures sell at $80 a pop is almost entirely because of their nostalgic appeal. A figure of Hayden Christensen in the same style does exactly nothing for us.

I don't blame Hasbro for trying, but this was a non-starter. Even different than 3.75" figures on vintage style cards (because there are still a lot of diehard 3.75" collectors out there regardless of which films they're from).

Maybe not to the OT generation, but I think you'll find it has plenty of nostalgic appeal to the PT generation. And they're the future!

When the PT generation is even close to being as inspired by those movies as the OT was, then we can talk about the power of nostalgic appeal. Right now, it's not even close.

Perhaps, but remember the OT was the first of its kind. By the time the PT came out, audiences were more jaded by over-the-top blockbusters, saturation CGI, online interactive games etc.

These will be great for my son to give to and keep him away from my figures. Past that not sure they've come too far from the last attempt at these.

These look alright to me, cheap too.

They have nice sculpts, basic, clean paint applications and neutral stances. If I were a kid, I think I'd be into these. Larger, durable figures with nice sculpts.

Most 6" and 7" figures are $20-$25 now, don't see the problem with these. The roto figures that Toy Biz used to make for their Marvel and Lord of the Rings lines were always cool and cost effective. Looking forward to seeing Darth.

I'll pass. Hasbro needs to even out their use both trilogies. I'm seeing way too my TPM at my local TRU & Target. There's so much potential in this size and style (retro). Not holding my breathe.

I like this figure. For 10 bucks I have a cool Jedi Luke.

That's a great sculpt, & with a repaint it could make a nice statue type figure.

Hair's wrong though; he's got the ESB hair. :lol

I did slop some paint on his hair it was that weird beige color. The whole fig does need painted though to tone down that shine.
Mine has a wonky eye too.

I'm not interested....I'll just wait for Hot Toys to get their Star Wars hair care products license and get their shampoo instead. :dunno

Re: Hasbro 12" Jedi Luke (shampoo bottle) figure.

Yeah, I have zero interest in these too.

It's definitely a head scratcher though, because while they're a cheap alternative, Hasbro have gone crazy with this line; all those Marvel ones too etc.

I think kids are also a little more discerning with their toys than these companies sometimes may think. These figures are more like those $2 shop toys you see hanging off walls in cellophane bags for party favors etc. :lol

I like these 12 inch Hasbro figures. Marvel and Star Wars are the ones I collect. I use them as somewhat of a "wallpaper." They run across the top of all my shelves in my room. I have about 10 of them. Hopefully more are made.

Yea I always hated these figures myself and thought the same as you. But this Luke figure was the first one I actually wanted to own.
