My Iron Spiderman has a few scratches and paint rubs on it. It's not super noticeable until you look real close. I want to return it so I can get something in more mint condition however I'm afraid that they'll send something in even worse condition. Has anyone ever had this problem where they received something even worse?

I was just reading about the Iron Man Bust and it seems that some people are getting back what they consider is worse then what they sent off.

My sim I had to send back and my replacement was perfect...but there is a hairline scratch on his tricep area on his raised arm. To be honest I think I may have done that when I was taking off that stupid plastic that was wrapped around his arm.

My Iron Spidey came with a very noticeable paint rub on his shoulder area. I'll probably call tomorrow to make arrangements to send him back. I just hope I don't get one thats worse :horror thats what I fear....

I haven't received anything in worse condition, but once I did receive a regular edition instead of the exclusive I sent in.

yes i have...I returned my mystique because of a paint chip on her boot...it was actually kinda under her pants...but it was a big enough chip to bother me. i got back one that had scratches in the boot, paint missing from her hair and forehead skull, and her top looked like it had a tear in it.

that's bad....I wanted to return mine because I found a paint drip that looks like a tumor on her right forearm. I didn't bother calling them because I'm afraid they might send me a replacement in a much more worse condition..I learned to live with it!....lt's not noticeable unless if you take a very close look.....SS needs to work in their QC....Koto's starting to look good....

I have only had to send a few items back but for all of them the replacements were mint. On one item I got though, Red Skull Premium Format, it has a small chip on the base and a small paint mark on one of his boots. Not noticeable at all when displayed. Anyways they said they did not have any replacements so they offered me a $50 refund or to return for my money back. I took the $50 and was satisfied.

I get that fear all the time to. But one good thing about the Iron Spideman, a lot of people haven't been returning this piece so there is a much better chance for you to get something in good shape.

Yes, went through two replacements with the Rogue Comiquette due to paint scratches.

Usually you can get multiple replacement but I think they are staring to really tighten down replacement options though. The 1:1 Iron Man bust was a fiasco, my replacement had a chip and they wouldn't send another replacement. That was after I sent it back already so they just offered a full refund.

This is just ridiculous. They should be "tightening down" on their QC; that way they won't have to worry about so many replacements.

I perfectly agree with that! But perhaps it is cheaper for them to occasionally replace a few items from people that request a replacement, than having to invest in a better QC? A better QC would be a permanent higher cost I imagine.

I got a lot of flawed items from SSC, though I didn't bother contacting them for replacements for all of them. But when I did, the replacement piece was always in great condition. There are a lot of things I dislike about SSC, but their return policy and customer service is good. It's the only reason why I still buy from them en direct. But, let's not forget that this outstanding service has it's price: the stuff they sell is more expensive then when you get it from other retailers.

I haven't been put in that position yet, being in Cali and close to Sideshow I have a lot of places to go so that I can inspect before I purchase.

But remember, the post I responded to was from someone saying that they will not accept a second return if the new one they send is also messed up. That sounds like a drop in CS to me if it is true. The new one should be flawless as far as I'm concerned; and if they can't get it right the second time, they need to allow the customer another replacement.

I perfectly agree. If I remember it correctly, that's the way they do it: send you a replacement, until you're happy. Unless they changed that policy recently? I know there where cases when there where no replacements left, and people where offered a (partial) refund.

But let's face it, SSC can tell you what ever they like. If they say there are no replacement pieces left, how are you going to prove the opposite? In the end, we have to take what ever option they offer.

If it's a paint drip, you could probably sand it out if you are careful. Mask the surrounding area with automotive masking tape( less sticky than household masking tape, so it comes off easier), and try some wet or dry sandpaper. I don't know how thick it is, but start with somewhere between 400 and 1200 grit depending on how thick it is, and finish with 1500 to 2000 grit. just be careful not to sand through. You might want to use water with a drop of dish soap to make it easier. Its a solid blue, not a candy or a metallic, so it should come out ok. Paint drips on a solid color are the most fixable flaw you can have.

Awe, that would tick me off!!!

But I was afraid of the same thing!!! I specifically asked if they could make SURE that the replacement didn't have ANY paint rubs or flaws at all..... Of course they told me that "all replacements are personally inspected"..... But isn't that why they have the "QC" label on the item anyways?!?! I'm sure they're just saying that to please out ears, but don't really know who/how careful they inspect it

thanks a lot....I actually went around town to find the paint that matches her skin tone!......french blue:D.....the sanding part, I'm not too sure...it's way too near the left index finger...just underneath the
right forearm, actually.....honestly though, I'm really not sure anymore if the lump is paint.....I know it's gonna sound crazy but I think it might be glue..........

You are so right on that. I just talked to customer service about my Iron Spiderman replacement and they told me that they need to check they're warehouse for replacements. If none were available I could either get a refund or send it back. I asked if they've had alot of returns and she said only about a handful. How can they not have replacements?? This I dont think is anywhere near the SIM problems. But it all comes down to what they tell you and good luck tryn to proving otherwise.....

Thankfully I haven't gotten anything from SS that I felt had a big enough flaw to warrant a replacement. I'm hoping my good fortune continues, so I try not to think about it.
