Edit: oh, you mean this one:

I guess Bowen is going to Faux Bronze the entire catalog of previously released pieces.

Yep. That's the one! I like it to be honest. But as many of you are pointing out, I hope they don't bronze the whole line. I planned on continuing the line, but I think I'm going to stick with Spidey-related pieces.

I was going to bite my tongue on this and mean no disrespect to anyone, but sometimes I think folks take this hobby a bit too seriously.

So bowan decides to re-make all of his statues with a twist, that a few of us like and want to buy. why get so worked up about it? how does this detract from the amazing statues you already own? does this make you like them less in any way?

some may say the energy to re-do these statues could have been better spent producing entirely new sculpts...but look at how much new stuff Randy has pumped out in the last 12 months...certainly there is no valid arguement there.

damn they are all getting faux bronzed kinda looses it's value don't you think?

because that little number on the bottom implies that that's all the amount of that statue will ever be made...not oh we'll go back 10 years & re-release them in a different color.

and why can't there be resin version of the true bronzes???? hmmmmmm?

I don't think people would be so understanding and enthusiastic if SS decided to re-release pieces such as Doom PF, HulpK PF, X-Men Dio #1,.....with a faux bronze or a different pimp cup, or different lights....

At first I didn't get the FB Bowen's, but I think if you would collect all of them or even just a bunch of them it would look great together. Some kind of award display.

Its a good thing SS can't do a good faux bronze :D(IMO)...but I would love to see a faux HULK PF...I own a GREY...wouldn't bother me at all.

Only people that owned those statues would care because it would mean their statues would lose secondary market value. The rest of the world would jump for joy. Basically...it comes down to people liking the idea that they have something that lots of people want but cant get.

In other words...re-releasing statues with tweaks hurts collection value and egos.

With that being said...if I dont got it...re-release. If I do got it...HELL NO they better not re-release it!

it's the fact that some people hunted down some of these older statues & paid hundreds more than retail for them, then they get re-released.

BD done nothing but cheapened his whole line by doing so many FB. it's hasbro all over again with all the variant action figures

I wonder if Bowen is looking to the future and sees the writing on the wall. They are running out of A and B-listers, and people will only buy so many Hulks and Captain Americas. This may be their way of increasing their longevity.

I dunno, but there's only a couple people per team, then all the teams will be done...then what? more characters like bi-beast & psycho-man?

See, I don't see it like that at all. FB is really a different line altogether. You can't really put a FB in the middle of a painted collection or vica versa.

Its like 6 inch vs. 3 inch in the Hasbro line. You can't really buy a 3 inch hulk because you missed it in the 6 inch line and then display them all together. It would just look silly.

There are a number of people out there that only collect the FB Bowen pieces (regardless of if you think thats dumb). Why should they only have a select few characters if thats the kind of collection they want?

Now, had Bowen or Sideshow put out a set edition size piece...then a few years later released the exact same piece for the exact same price....well that would be dirty business! FB is just a different collector option IMO.

On a similar note...I think everyone has to realize and accept that the goal and objective of ANY company is to make MONEY. Not to make sure that what you buy from them holds its value on the secondary market.

Everyone calls it "milking it". And it is to be sure! However, milking implies that you keep reaping the rewards of something as long as there are rewards to reap! If you keep milking a cow and keep getting milk...why stop? Bowen puts them out...and they sell...so why would they give it up?

cause that's what we needed.....a FB bucky FS  not to mention that FB SILVER surfer FS
