I dont understand how she just flew away on the dragon and left all her close friends in the middle of the arena to fend for themselves against terrible odds without any care in the world. I thought for sure she would direct drogon to fly back and burn all the rebels, but instead she just flew away. Seems very out of character for her, wtf? :cuckoo:

Drogon took out quite a bit of the Sons of the Harpies, I have a feeling the folks she left behind will be just fine.

They were after her. Not them.

Nevertheless they seem quite an unscrupulous bunch, slashing random throats in the crowd etc. Also they fought to the last man just to try and kill a few Unsullied and the old knight in a previous episode. It would still seem worthwhile to kill the remainder of the queen's guards and advisers even though she escaped - or so I would think.

Yeah I agree, and the up lose shots just didn't work for me something with the background/sky wasn't right either but it was a minor point eitherway

The Cgi is top shelf for a TV show, the dragons look very convincing

I think my main problem with the whole scene was how calm her hair was - it hardly moved. They needed to put a giant fan in front of her, and possibly under her, to make the movement of her hair much more consistent with what it would be doing if she were riding a real dragon while it flew through the air. I think that alone would've made the scene much more believable. As for the CG itself, I thought it was pretty good - particularly for a TV show.

Yeah, their intention was clearly grander than simply assassinating Dany, as they were killing people in the crowd, her husband, etc. The idea that she was only concerned about the dragon at that point makes some sense, and actually makes for an interesting parallel with Stannis's wife and daughter earlier in the episode that I didn't consider.

Not really random in my opinion. The people in the crowd who were killed were all Masters. I didn't see any slaves being killed by The Sons of the Harpie. So it seems like The Sons of the Harpie are former slaves. They first appeared in episode 4 after the slave riot in episode 2.

She flew away to save the dragon, not herself, not out of character at all.

Also, Dragon took out a lot of the opposition, and a whole other bunch ran away, by the end you could see they were practically only unsullied in the ground of the arena.

Most of you commented eloquently enough on Shireen's fate. so I don't feel the need to add anything. As a father of three girls, it was horrible to watch, especially Shireen's wails of pain as the fire consumed her offscreen.

I should have known this was coming, especially since I commented on one of my favorite humane moments in the series when Stannis professed his love for his daughter. Religious fanaticism is the worst. I don't know what happens next, but if Stannis is successful at defeating the Boltons and reclaims Winterfell and the North, he will feel that he was justified in sacrificing his only daughter.

I don't have a daughter, but I sure did hold my female chihuahua real close right after that Shireen scene :lol

I'm excited for the finale, sounds like we'll see, the sure to be infamous, Cersei scene.

I have a feeling Brienne is going to show up and take Sansa (and they will probably head to Jon)

Stannis is a ****ing retard, that's for sure.

I also hate "da faith", as much as I hate Cercei, I want to see all of those ******* burn by Khaleesi's dragons.

Is it just me or has anyone else seen what appears to be Stannis' sigil up on the wall in the House of Black and White or whatever it's called, where Jaqen is teaching Arya?

That's the fiery heart of the lord of light the symbol of that crazy fire deity Melisssandre worships.

Stannis uses it as his Sigil combined with the crowned stag of the Baratheons. Check how that flaming heart lacks the stag man!

I think the faceless men think that every God is just another aspect of the many faced God that's way they represent many of the religions of Westeros and Essos like The Old Gods, The Stranger, The Drowned God and The Lord of Light.

Beyond melting a path for them to Winterfell, I'm curious if we'll see the Lord of Light's intervention in the siege in some sort of more direct way. Stannis has no food, sickly men, decimated horses and lost all his siege engines. He's going to need a lot more help than just having the physical freedom to march down to attack.

I'm curious about that as well. Winterfell is built to withstand a prolonged siege. They haven't really addressed this in the series, but in the special features in the Season one Blu-ray, it was mentioned that Winterfell was built on a natural spring that essentially provided geothermic heat for the entire castle, allowing the Starks (and now the Boltons) to survive the harsh winters. It was also mentioned that there are several secret paths in and out of Winterfell, though I cannot see Stannis taking that route...he seems like a full all-out assault type of guy.
