I love how many different ways that last scene is being interpreted. A little ambiguity can be great for storytelling. (And I'm sure her point of view will be clarified next time.)

The Missus and I thought it meant her faith had been so shaken (just about everything she believed has come tumbling down) that she was essentially giving up. We thought her taking off the necklace was like a fallen priest laying down his collar and crucifix or a disillusioned gunslinger taking off and rejecting his gun. It looked like total despair to me.

That is also a very solid take IMO.

I don't think that she is totally forsaking her religion, but I do think she might be feeling a strong moment of doubt. Which is understandable given what happened first to Stannis, and then to Jon. After the episode on HBONow the creators talk a bit about that scene, saying that part of how she behaves is just due to her "real" age.

Was interesting to see Melisandre do a Morgana.
I too wonder if she's going to give her amulet to Jon Snow... She did look very sad and forlorn, maybe it's because she knows what she's got to sacrifice in order to fulfil her vision?

Oh, and where did the hounds go? I thought they were supposed to be these ferocious beasts, and then as soon as Brienne shows up, they're nowhere to be seen.

Good point. They probably cut it short to prevent animal cruelty. Killing dogs, vicious or not, won't go well with modern audience.

Someone mentioned that Snow can be brought back to life by being burned since ...
I haven't heard anything in the series yet suggesting this is possible. But maybe.

By the way, Ian McShane revealed some spoilerish material awhile back that could be related to all this speculation about reviving the dead, if anyone wants to seek it out.

I don't know--this show does not seem to have an issue with the death of any animals

Yeah, let's not forget this!

But maybe they didn't want Brienne killing dogs.

I put that in spoilers for a reason! You are really risking angering a lot of people.
Why? It's all speculation. Anybody who has been been paying remote attention to the show has all heard of all this speculation by now. And I don't have even the smallest iota of factual evidence that any if it is true or now.

It is speculation, but supported by a lot of evidence, and is a plot point that may not have occurred to many viewers.

I'd hate to ruin anybody's enjoyment of this show.

Edit -maybe not a lot of evidence, but more circumstance.

I'll delete it. I don't have spoiler tags on my phone. But you're right.

Anyone have an insight as to why Ser Davos paused and looked at the blood stain in the snow where Jon was a second ago?
I paused the scene and the only thing that didn't look right was how little blood seemed to be there compared to how much was initially shown.

It's not a spoiler because it's all uncharted territory from here out. Guesses shouldn't be treated as in stone spoilers.
People who're are afraid of spoilers shouldn't be in threads about the subject in the first place or expect others to protect them from their own lack of self control.
