I don't know, there are no straight up bad guys anymore, only perceived enemies.

Maybe Euron? He's the closest to a bad guy, and I've only read till book 4, so I don't know what happens next :lol

Also, I can never tell what's Little Finger's angle.

His "angle" is the Iron Throne...by ANY means available.
Nothing is off the table with that guy.
His violence and tactics are more refined but every bit as effective and deadly as a Euron,Frey or a Lannister.

Who takes his place now? Does the Night King and his army now become the show's main antagonist?

I think so.

We're only two seasons -maybe shorter than usual- from the ending. If they don't start changing the focus by now from humans to the real enemy... when are they going to do so? On the last two episodes of the show? Besides, with Dany's army any human villain at this point would be irrelevant.

Little Finger won't get the screen time to warrant much of a threat, especially with the rumoured shorter seasons. He'll most probably cause a stir at Winterfell but he should get shut down straight away.

Yep, pretty much. The focus should shift to the overall Ice v Fire theme.

Sometimes I think that, sometimes I think he just wants to **** Sansa :lol

Doesn't matter, he barely got any screen time and saved Jon's ***.

Well, it's only a matter of time before Daenerys comes back a ****s everyone's **** up, she's got like hundreds of thousand strong army, plus Varys is gonna get them another hundreds of thousands.

Maybe Winterfell is gonna pay allegiance to her. I don't see Little Finger getting very far, plus I'm kinda tired of his monotone speeches.

If he wanted to nail Sansa I don't think he would've handed her over to Ramsey, sloppy seconds doesn't come close.
He loves himself.
I think he sees himself above those fleshly desires he used to cater too with his brothel.

The guy uses words and gamesmanship like Breeann of Tarth uses a sword.

I think the ultimate hero to save da world will be the dragons fighting White walkers ...the Daenerys will marry a hero? and peace shall come uniting all...heres hoping the final scene shows Sauron creating rings of power and Barad dur ;)

Nah he does have a hard-on for Sansa, given she resembles so much to her mother, and he made the mistake of giving her over to Ramsay, he admitted that.

Plus I don't see how anyone would rally behind him, I see him eternally in the backstage, he's gonna die before he has any shot at the Iron Throne.

And on the contrary, I don't think he sees himself above those desires, he's had those desires repressed and rejected his entire life.

Eh, I thought he got off way too quick easy for all the **** he did.

They should've had him ***** with rusty metal instruments until he cried for mercy, and then feed him to the dogs.

That was more like it. The season has been, IMO, a bit too much of a slow burn so it really needed this.

Incredible stuff, visuals as great as any big budget summer movie.

I was slightly disappointed we didn't see that Giant doing more damage and striking fear into the bad guys. I daresay, apart from ripping one guy in half, it didn't seem like he was doing much - just helplessly trying to slap away those long spears. I felt he was a little bit ''depowered'' shall we say. I'm guessing the reason was because the battle needed to seem hopeless until Littlefinger arrived and also because they wanted the Giant to have that breaking down the door moment later.

I managed to totally miss what I was seeing with Davos finding the remains of Shireen, only reading this thread has learned me. So that's setting up something interesting for sure.

The Dragons were fantastic, loved seeing the slavers' smug superiority completely demolished - although, they knew about the Dragons so I'm not sure why they were so confident in the first place - did they not realise how big they were or something?

I suppose the good guys have to rise above things like that so feeding him to his own dogs was the harshest they could do without making it reflect badly on themselves.

I tried. I really tried. Currently in book 4 and not motivated to continue reading. I've been enjoying the show more.

I hear you, to be honest. But there is a pretty strong theory...almost for-sure...about Jon's lineage based on the info in the books (some of which has been breadcrumbed into the show).

Maybe I will pick it up again. I've gone this far. :lol
