That was more like it. The season has been, IMO, a bit too much of a slow burn so it really needed this.
This season a "slow burn"? Wut.

We've got Theon and Yara teamed up with Daenerys now. We've learned the secret of the white walkers and the children of the forest. We've learned the secret of Benjen Stark, and he's back. The Hound is back as well, teaming up with the Brotherhood without Banners. Jon Snow was resurrected and those who betrayed him killed in the 2-3 episode. Osha, Rickon, Roose - all killed by Ramsay who he himself has now been slain by Sansa with Jon's help. Winterfell has been retaken. Hodor's story revealed, sacrifices his life for Bran and Meera after the three-eyed raven, children of the forest and Summer were massacred by the undead army. Daenerys got a new army and it seems that she's finally ready to head out from Meereen. All the business with Arya - killing the waif, leaving the Faceless Men. Etc.

So much has happened this season. I've been seeing a lot of articles pop up saying that this season is progressing the story too fast.

It seems to me like they're rushing to finish the show as fast as possible, what with only 13 episodes being left.

The only storyline I'd describe as being slow this season is the King's Landing one, which I think is going to have a lot going on next episode.

This season has been a massive improvement over the last season, which is the one I would describe as a "slow burn". Or, more like, "slow fizzle".

It hasn't felt like a lot has happened to me. And many of the things you mention aren't all that significant to non-book readers or people who can't remember who certain characters are because it's been so long since we last saw them if we ever saw them (or maybe they were a different actor if we did - equally possible with this show)

The great episodes packed a lot of info and action. There has been some slog, though. Arguably, Arya's "no one" storyline has been dragging almost since it started. Dany giving speeches after dramatic entrances is old hat. The iron islands are pretty boring on the show, and Theon is more of a curiosity than a hero or villain. The High Sparrow is approaching Chancellor Palpatine territory.

But when it cooks, it cooks.

Are he and Tommen going to take in an opera next week? :lol

"And when I say midichlorians, I mean your uncle banged your mom."

Man those ****ing fanatics, I hate them, I hope they kill them all.

I suppose the good guys have to rise above things like that so feeding him to his own dogs was the harshest they could do without making it reflect badly on themselves.

Yeah pretty much, but darn it's fun to imagine.

Anyone else think Jon Snow will end up not being a ******* and be the true heir of Winterfell?

He's half
Targaryen

Ramsay should've been tied up in those Wooden X thing like his banner symbol, instead of letting him sit down on a chair.

That would've been brilliant.

I've never read the books. I've re-watched the first few seasons a couple of times and have wiki'd certain events, places and characters. I don't think anything I've looked up is more than a normal fan would.

This season has majorly focused on answering the big questions and prepping everyone for the end game.

Benjen Stark was played by the same actor. His disappearance, as well as tales of the children of the forest have been brought up every now and then.

Daenerys has eliminated Meereen's threats, she has a Dothraki army and 100 Greyjoy ships. She's ready to set sail. Jon has retaken Winterfell and has the Arryn army on his side. He's got no one left to fight but the white walkers. Arya's become a pseudo-assassin and is returning to Westeros. Bran has trained with the Greenseer and now he's returning to the wall to prepare for the long night.

It has almost all fallen in place this season. All that's left really is the Lannister side of things, which as I said I think will play a large role in the finale.

Well there you go, I've never re-watched any of it or even wiki'd anything.

My appreciation of the show will be much greater when I eventually do watch it through again.

I've been re-watching the seasons, and even though I read the books, I'm still amazed at how many things I barely noticed or forgot about that now stick out and have gained significance due to developments in the plot in later seasons. It's definitely a valuable re-view.

Things that should happen before the end of the series:
* Wall comes down
* Iron Throne is no more
* 3 dragon riders take flight together
* Arya completes her list or fate takes care of the rest
* Tyrion chokes Cersei to death
* Jamie atones
* A Stark rules Winterfell
* R + L = J Confirmed

I thought bout rewatching last nights episode, but decided not to. Because during second views, it doesn't have that suspense to it no more.

Just watched again....suspense is gone but the appreciation is much more! Was Ramsey responsible for that corkscrew attack? I think it lets us know how stannis's army went out....I appreciated Danny's attack with dragons...watching the veil knights break through the corkscrew reminded me of the ghost knights sweeping through the orges in lord of the rings....

Watching it a second time improved, from hearing Jon's leather clothes zoom by the screen sound pretty realistic, from headless horsemen in the battlefield, from the smooth transition between arrow and sword, the amazing view of the horses attacking him, to the colossal feat of replicating the sound of people stomping above him. Nothing quite like it.

GOT is one of the few TV shows I can watch multiple times, doesn't matter that shock moments are gone, the good dialogue, performances and cinematography remain.
