Back to my point on Casterly Rock and the Unsullied in my last post, I guess I was mistaken...but I wasn't the only one. The Game of Thrones reviewer/writer for io9.com had the same question I did, and thought the Lannister forces would surround Casterly Rock and lay siege to the Unsullied. Speaking with my brother, he said that after the Unsullied "took" Casterly and saw their ships being destroyed by the Greyjoy fleet, Jaime Lannister said something along the lines of the fact that the Unsullied wouldn't be able to hold Casterly Rock and that they would be forced to march across Westeros, making a break across open ground...but it was never explicitly said that the Lannister forces would counterattack and run the Unsullied down.

Now, I'm no military commander, but that strikes me as the perfect time to eliminate even more of Dany's military forces. Regardless, the confusion could have been eliminated by having a quick scene with Varys or Tyrion saying "The Unsullied have abandoned Casterly Rock and are marching back to Dragonstone. For whatever reason, the Lannisters aren't pursuing them". :dunno

Back to the Sansa/Arya/Littlefinger storyline...I didn't enjoy it while Sansa and Arya were fighting, but like I said, the final resolution was sweet to me. However, I couldn't help but think back to Ned Stark telling his sons that "The man who brings down the sentence should swing the sword" (paraphrasing, of course); while it would have been majorly out of character for Sansa too have been the one to execute Littlefinger, there would have been some symmetry, especially with Arya and Sansa reminiscing about their father so often, ending in the scene where the repeat Ned Stark's word that "when winter comes, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives".

I guess Beric Dondarrion and Tormund Giatnsbane are going to have to hoof it on the top of the wall to get to the next castle, LOl.

GRRM said that the blue dragon breath can freeze a man in seconds, like how the red breath can turn a man to ashes in seconds, so blasting a frozen wall should only add more ice to the "wall" not blow it up like that. Should be like Xmen's Iceman power.

From what I could find, he was referring to mythical "ice dragons" (lore from the books) when he said that. This explains it best:

l

What devil said. Viserion isn't an ice dragon, he's a zambi dragon.

Dragons are essentially nukes in this series. Their fire also has a magic quality to it.

He also didn't take down the whole wall. He just punched a hole through part of it.

What are people's theories about next season? I thought that the war against the NK and his army would be the main focus of the season, however Cersei now has this other army coming over from Essos with Euron. I feel that this army will end up involved in the war against the dead rather than 2 separate wars, so Cersei has to die mid season or so. They should just send Arya down there to kill her and then replace her and command the army to the North.

They way this season declined writing wise I fully expect that the Golden company army will be commanded by a masked man that will reveal himself as Daario Naharis or Jaqen H'ghar (or why not Syrio) at just the right time, and turn on Cersei to save the day.

Has anyone read the supposed season 8 leaks? People say they're fake, but who knows.

I'm being careful to stay a country mile from 'leaks' as I'm 100% thoroughly enjoying this series and don't have the criticisms other people seem to have with it.
What if they're NOT fake? Why ruin it for people? I have been on other forums where 'anonymous' members claiming to have ties to productions have come in and posted virtual storyboard, PRECISE episode spoilers for WD episodes and I ask myself why the hell they would do that other than to stroke their own egos for being involved in a megahit.

And 'googling' spoilers and then coming here to speculate about them still potentially ruins it for others in the off chance they're accurate. Just my humble .02

All dragons die, all main characters die except for Tyrion and Jon & Denys kid

Nightking dies but will eventually get replaced for another one day future winter...bran looks like the NK. ..a lot

Even if they had 10 episodes, what would they have filled the travelling gaps with? There are not many characters left in the series and most of them have now all come together either at Winterfell, Dragonstone or King's Landing. In the finale when they were strategizing their travel to Winterfell, they mentioned it would take nearly 2 weeks for the Dothraki and Unsullied to get there by foot because Winter had set in. So next season i don't expect we'll be waiting weeks to see them finally arrive, we just have to be aware that time has passed. During this season the majority of travelling was by ship, so we have to expect that is much faster than by road.

Are you kidding me...lots...hell if the hound talked about chicken for 1/2 hour I would be ok with that

That's something I didn't think about. It does seem to buck tradition for Sansa to make the call but not wield the, uh, knife. But then, I don't believe Sansa was ever brought out there into the field to behead traitors and whatnot. That was men's work. So, it's conceivable that she didn't hear much about that. Certainly, there aren't many folks around Winterfel now who would know much about Ned's philosophy on life and being in charge beyond the girls.

YES!

I don't think Tywin could even be upset at such an outcome :lol

Yeah, there are definitely gender role issues at hand in Westeros :lol. I'm sure Ned didn't give that speech to Arya and Sansa. The dichotomy just struck me, whether it was intended or not.

Yah if it were to happen Daeny would have to be mortally wounded and Jon stabs her to finish it bringing lightbringer. Just a thought.

Like this idea from an article I just read:

Littlefinger Will Rise

The chaotic climber died a sad and lonely death in the season seven finale, but is that really the end of the road for Aidan Gillen's work on the show? Not by a long shot. Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) possesses the ability to wear the faces of the people she's killed, and the motive to apply that treatment to the recently deceased Lord Baelish. Imagine the scenario in which Arya as Littlefinger strolls down to King's Landing to cozy up to Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), in desperate need of any allies she can get her hands on. That would be one highly inventive way to satisfy the prophecy of the "valonqar," which states that Cersei will be killed by the "younger sibling." Most people think the prophecy refers to Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) or Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), but why can't it apply to the youngest Stark sister — especially if she's wearing the face of an enemy?

I'm happy he's gone :lol
Shame on you for saying such a thing! One of the best characters in the show, easily.

If Littlefinger himself can't sit on the throne, then I'll take it!

Will there even be time? Isn't Winterfell stop numero uno on the Night Kings southern vacation itinerary? :lol

Surely they'll have to deal with that first...

Well if Jon and Dany think they cant properly fight a war against the Night King while having to fight off Cersi maybe Arya could step up and say while I get this handy dandy Littlefinger face hanginging around I could pay her a visit. She kills Cersi, wears her face and commands the Lannisters and Gold Company to join the fight against the undead.
