Awesome. Cersei play with the element of chaos and chaos come staring back. We all know Danny will fall next. Such is the price.

Good episode that I did not see coming...but there was some foreshadowing when Dany says to Jon “Fear it is...”

Also, what a great twist from the scene in season two where we see Dany in the Red Keep covered in what we think is snow...

But are ashes instead...

Since the season began and Dany had been edging ever closer to King's Landing I began to think more and more of that vision and that snow not being snow at all but ash. Looks like I was right.

Because she's totally and utterly human. Its horrifically sad, brutal and heartbreaking.

Can you provide a historical context that parallels her? If anything her being totally and utterly human defies logic as to why she would do that after obtaining a complete victory with virtually no loss.

Its literally the equivalent of any mass murder in history Hitler et al etc, becoming a completely benevolent and compassionate individual.

I thought ep3 will be the low of this series, I was wrong. Absolute disaster of an episode.

1) all of sudden the hundreds of dragon killing ballista all became useless just waiting to be burned up, when just last week a few took out a dragon easily. 90% didn’t even get 1 shot off just stood there while getting burned

2) instead of doing something stealth based on her faceless training, our hero Arya runs up like an idiot with the hound, then listens to the hound, gives up, and runs back down. Then survives pretty much a dozen instant deaths while everyone around her dies. What exactly is the point of Arya in this ep other than writers forcing her in to make her seems important.

3) 50 mins of this is just dragon burning *** up..over..and over...and over..same scenes. No emotion, no story, no tension, absolutely no attempt to try any kind of story or plan or developments or anything. As if the writers just gave up and let FX dept to write ep5.

4) grey worm went completely out of character, even out for revenge for his gf he will never became this cruel and bloody thirsty, start killing soldiers who surrendered. That’s just not his character.

5) cersi for all her planning and cleverness pretty much just watched her entire defense get destroyed without putting up an ounce of fight. Ok she did with all the ballista but the writers decided they are no longer effective against dragons after killing one. No clever hidden plans with wildfire, no traps to lure in the invaders for slaughter, pretty much nothing what’s so ever.

6) And to wrap her up, just run down some stairs and get crashed by rocks...wtf

This entire episode feels like the writers just gave up, broke their own rules they worked so hard over the years to establish that made the show a success, all just to force an ending on the series.

With 1 episode left there is no chance left the show will redeem itself now, such a terrible ending to an otherwise remarkable series. Ep3 and 5 single handily froze and burned this series to the ground.

Only hope now is George Martin’s book will do this series justice.

Well damn... remind me not to piss off a Targaryen...

Brutal episode, filmmakers take note on how to depict total destruction.

Not sure I buy Daenerys’ character evolution, but the episode was fantastic.

I'm not a fan of Dany going mad. It was always the predictable ending because they had mentioned the Targaryen madness throughout the series. It doesn't even feel as though Dany went mad due to some hereditary inbreeding anyway. She lost all those that were close to her and felt that she wasn't loved. Even Jon couldn't be intimate with her anymore after knowing they are related.

I do wonder if Varys hadn't betrayed her, would she have felt so unloved and betrayed? Would she still have burned those people? Did Tyrion and Varys cause the actions that they started to believe could happen?

This could be an epic episode by having a story where Jamie trying to convince cerse, the dwarf trying to save the city with some master plan, grey worm and Jon snow army fell into some kind of Lannister trap and barely survives, Arya getting very close to cersi by becoming one of her guards and go at it against the mountain with hound jumping in, Daenerys dragon getting injured while avoiding the hundreds of arrows while burning them down.

Daenerys can still go mad at the end and burn everything down, but then at least you have a story instead of us just watching dragon lighting street after street on fire for 50 minutes.

No, having only 2 episode left caused her to go mad

Great episode. Dany going off her rocker was believable to me. Her ruthlessness had been shown in smaller doses all throughout the series. But I think it was also a perfect storm of losing all of her friends, losing her dragons, the betrayals, and her own insecurities and lust for power. And I do think Missandei was the final straw.

Peep crying over this episode, lol. Without Dany, the Night King would've won, 100%....sure Arya did the killing blow. She lost her 2 dragons, adviser, and betrayed. Worse, after all her lost and sacrifice, she won't be able to claim the throne properly. Best way is to show no mercy. Powers corrupts.

Agree. IMO a lot of depth wasn't there. I've felt since last season too much rushing and questionable stuff like Arya just blabbing about the Faceless Men. Anyway figure Varys last act was hiring a Faceless Man "death is certain the time is not" so Dany dies in the end.

Love to see Jaqen again but - unsatisfying. Some good stuff like Tyrion and Jaimie. Who knows, maybe Tyrion shoots her.

So Arya disguised as Jon ends up killing Dany? Or Jon just kills her instead. I guess that's how it plays out in the final episode.

The next episode will be almost as good. More peep crying over it, guarantee. For the love of spoilers, they will cry a river.

Lots of negative comments about this episode. This show is going to be remembered for having a ****** ending.

Arya probably needs Jon's face to pull the disguise off? The other option seems more feasible. But shhhh! Don't spoils them.
