Maybe they're coming out with a "complete series" boxed set. BB did this to the Northern Exposure sets before they came out with new ones.

Ugh, this pisses me off. I went the other day and they had a sign saying $9.99 but I took one to the register and it came up $19.99, I was in a ruch on the way to work and didn't feel like arguing the point...

Well, at least you know you can go back and get them... I'll probably pick up some this weekend :rock

Thanks for the heads up! The She-Ra box sets are $9.99 as well. Just placed an in-store pickup order for She-Ra Season 1 Vol. 2 to complete the entire MOTU/POP series on DVD. Awesome!

I've never had any problems at our Best Buy. I like them alot.

Don't get me started. With their awful warranty/return policy, trying to sell you magazines when checking out, and unknowledge, snobby salespeople. They seem to teach their employees to take advantage of customers whnever possible by selling them crap they don't need and giving wrong information.

There used to be a site called besbuysux.org, but I think the BB lawyers got involved and had it shut down. It had MANY stories of how people were screwed over by BB, either by managers not honoring advertised prices, geek squad giving the the run around and loosing their computer, or all of the sudden having to pay for magazines they didn't order.

I nearly got in a fist fight with the manager at one store when he refused to sell me an advertised TV stand that was on clearance. I had a copy of the sales ad, the online ad, and a copy of their own store's price and he wouldn't sell it to me because he said it was a "mistake." The manager literally got his bodyguard thugs (those meatheads that stand by front door to stop shoplifters) to physically remove me from the store. I did nothing wrong and almost called the police, bud decided to just "let it go."

Trust me, they are not a good company and don't care about their "devil customers". I only shop there when the price can't be beat. For other items, I shop at Target or Circuit City.

must be regional. i've never had a problem with the best buy around here for the last 15 years. they never try to sell me mags or stuff i dont need. the only thing they try to push are warrenties and all you have to do is say no once and that's that. they are the only store in the area that has a decent selection of dvd's and cd's. wal-mart doesnt have crap. they try to ban everything that isnt family friendly.

I plan on picking these up today... don't have a Best Buy in town, but going to OKC so they're on the list :rock

No, it's pretty much everywhere. At least at the stores I've gone to, numbering around 5 or 6.

just google "best buy customer service" or "best buy magazine" or "best buy geek squad complaint" and see what you come up with.

Like I said, the He-Man is a good deal and can't be beat, so I bought it. But I'm so against how BB treats people when they have a problem that I've otherwise boycotted them entirely. On another occasion, i asked if they price matched, was told yes, so asked them to price match a computer game. I think it was Civilization 4. It was on sale at Fry's electronics, which is located in Tempe, AZ. The sale price was something like $10 less than retail during it's initial release. It was a little bit of a drive, so I tried to have it matched at my local BB. After BB called the store to verify it was in stock, they later refused to match the price for two reasons/excuses:

1) it wasn't a local location, since I live in Mesa, AZ and store was in Tempe. This is completely ridiculous, the stores are about 15 miles apart at most.

2) Fry's often sells refurbished items and BB's price match policy doesn't include refurbished items. I actually laughed at the manager when he told me this. I was completely expecting that kind of a response from previous unpleasant experiences with the company. There was a customer next to me who was having unrelated but just as frustrating issues with his own personal experience with "customer service" and I asked him if he could believe what the manager just said. I asked manager how you "refurbish" a CD/DVD. I think I called the manager a jackass and left the store.
