So it's the customer's fault for taking advantage of sales and rebates?

If the company doesn't want to sell things at that price, they shouldn't. Plain and simple. The devil customers aren't doing anything illegal or unethical. Don't advertise lowest prices if you don't want customers to buy those items. Change store policy if unwilling to honor the lowest price match from brick/mortar stores.

I'm glad people are taking advantage of this sale, not sure how much longer it will last. And I have a sense of satisfaction that this is most likely a loss leader or a price mistake and BB isn't making much of a profit, if any, at this price.

No it's not the customers fault for taking advantage of a sale. The part I can see isn't right is where they buy something, send in for the rebate (which they're paid) then returning the item, getting their full money back, then rebuying it at a lower price because it's been opened. Maybe it's legal, but it still isn't right. IMO. And I can see his gripe with that.

I don't see how anyone could actually pull that off, and if they are, yes, it should be squelched. Most rebates require you to cut the original UPC from the box and send in with compelted rebate form. Once you cut that UPC bar code from product, you can no longer return the item.

And the purchase, and return, then rebuy at "opened box" scam has been stopped with the 15% restocking fee. I wouldn't support this sort of activity either.

But I have been shut down by them completely for doing legitimate deals. The most recent one was for "24" boxed sets. They had them on sale for something like $24.99. The first season included a MNF coupon that could be used for boxed sets and get $19.99 off each set through the Manufacturer's coupon. So essentially you could get a boxed set somewhere around $5. It was a coupon that the manufacturer would have to reimburse, the money was not coming out of best buy. But once best buy corporate got wind of the deal, they came up with every excuse as to why the coupon didn't apply to that product, even though it was clearly stated on the coupon that this was a legitimate deal. Wasn't long after that all seasons of "24" were removed from the shelves until coupon period expired. If you want some entertaining reading, log onto slick deals and read some of the stories customers were told by management, hillarious.
